Change Campaigns
Once you’ve bought and downloaded the “Vessel of Hatred”, when it launches, you might prefer to create a fresh character to explore the expansion and future seasons. But here’s the catch: the game doesn’t automatically lead you into the new content. Instead, you have to guide it on where to take your character first.
As a gamer, here’s how I might rephrase it: “After customizing your character, don’t forget to select ‘Join the Vessel of Hatred Campaign.’ If you skip this, you’ll either find yourself back in Kyovashad for another round, just like past seasons, or you’ll be starting Diablo 4 from scratch. However, even if you start in Kyovashad, there’s a new expansion quest waiting for you in the main city to get things rolling.
Acquire Renown and Altars of Lilith
You’ll find it beneficial to traverse Sanctuary, collecting every single Altar of Lilith found within each zone and boosting your reputation in each area. Each Altar grants a distinct bonus, often enhancing attributes such as Dexterity or Strength, but also occasionally offering additional Murmuring Obol capacity or an extra Paragon Point. They’re valuable because starting a new character with all Altars gives you a substantial power boost right from the start.
Additionally, Renown offers the advantage of earning extra XP, gold, ability points, increased Potion Storage capacity, Max Coins, and Paragon Points from the Region Advancement center. This yet another boost to a fresh character’s strength!
Focus on Mercenaries
As you embark on your journey from Kyovashad to Nahantu, blacksmith Rahair will acquaint you with the latest Mercenary system in the game. This feature enables you to take an NPC ally with you, making it easier when you prefer to play alone and swiftly complete tasks. Additionally, another mercenary might occasionally show up to inflict damage before vanishing into the shadows.
Initially, prior to diving into the Vessel of Hatred campaign, ensure you finish the Mercenary missions to boost your relationship with every new character. The additional abilities each Mercenary gains with rapport experience significantly impact the new content.
