Superhero video games haven’t always been what they are today. Early games were often based on arcade experiences, and later many were quickly made to coincide with movie releases. This approach was hit or miss – while games like Spider-Man 2 were great, many others were disappointing, and players started to become skeptical. Sony, now a leader in superhero game adaptations, responded to this by creating original characters and storylines with the Infamous series, which many still find more innovative and engaging than even the Marvel’s Spider-Man games.

I’ve been so excited for this update, not just for the gameplay tweaks, but because they finally released that awesome skin from the ARC Raiders teasers! It’s part of the new Abyss cosmetic set, and you can grab the whole bundle for 1,600 Raider Tokens. It includes the skin – you might remember it from a trailer before ARC Raiders even came out – plus a new emote and a bunch of other cool stuff. We’ve been waiting almost three months for it, and it’s finally here with update 1.11.0 on all platforms! I immediately checked the in-game store when the update dropped.

Embark Studios has some exciting news for ARC Raiders players! The game has sold over 12 million copies, and as a thank you, they’re giving players a free gift. A new update is also rolling out, which includes adjustments to some items and changes to the map designed to improve player-versus-player combat.

Even with the release of the 2026 LEGO set, a disappointing issue persists. The original LEGO Dungeons & Dragons minifigures are incredibly rare, preventing fans from completing their vision of the Red Dragon’s Tale as they’d hoped.

Many popular online games, like Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Fortnite, use skill-based matchmaking to connect players for multiplayer matches. While the specifics differ between games, ARC Raiders‘ system is a bit more complex. After the game launched, players suspected it matched people based on how aggressively they played or the quality of their equipment. Embark’s CEO recently confirmed that ARC Raiders does use an aggression-based system. According to the CEO, the game considers how likely a player is to engage in player-versus-player (PvP) or player-versus-environment (PvE) combat when forming matches.

ARC Raiders, the popular game from Embark Studios that launched in 2025, continues to thrive. Over one million players have finished their first major in-game quest, called an Expedition Project, and to celebrate, the developers are giving away a free gift to everyone who’s been supporting the game.

Things aren’t always simple when it comes to good versus evil in games. The most interesting games show that even the ‘good’ groups have flaws, and the ‘bad’ groups often have understandable reasons for their actions. Sometimes, the groups trying to do good actually end up causing problems, because even well-intentioned efforts can have negative consequences.

We recently had a chance to play the first two chapters of Tides of Tomorrow and got a good look at how its unusual multiplayer system affects both the story and how you play. While the game does have standard gameplay, it’s really focused on its narrative. Because of this, our preview will focus more on how the game uses its unique features to tell the story, rather than revealing the story itself – we don’t want to spoil it!
