Moonveil L2 Announces Node Sale, Polygon Labs In

As a seasoned crypto investor with over a decade of experience under my belt, I must admit that Moonveil’s node sale campaign has piqued my interest. Having witnessed the rise and fall of numerous projects, I am always on the lookout for innovative ideas that could potentially revolutionize the blockchain landscape.

The gaming-centric Moonveil network has announced the terms for its upcoming node sale, with Polygon Labs, a subsidiary of the influential Polygon (POL) ecosystem, already contributing funds to this event.

Moonveil launches node sale campaign, Polygon Labs joins

As stated by gaming-focused platform L2 Moonveil, they have begun the process for selling nodes. A total of 50,000 nodes will be made available to active members of the Moonveil community from October 22 onwards, with the aim of increasing the decentralization of the project in a fair and democratic fashion.

On the 9th of November, there will be 90,000 nodes participating!

In a recent collaboration, the venture capital branch of Polygon (POL), known as Polygon Labs, contributes $2 million towards the project. Specifically, this investment will facilitate the rapid expansion of projects linked with AggLayer within Moonveil’s dynamic gaming environment, allocating $1 million to this endeavor.

Moonveil recently revealed its freshly developed layer 2 solution, constructed upon Polygon’s CDK framework. This innovative layer will also be intertwined with AggLayer, thereby establishing a smooth cross-chain interface that fosters novel breakthroughs in the realm of gaming by expanding its potential.

Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs, expresses enthusiasm for Moonveil’s vision and the impact of its node sale on the project’s development and democratic nature.

Moonveil’s revolutionary strategy for Web3 games resonates with Polygon Labs’ outlook on blockchain’s future. By backing Moonveil nodes, we are strengthening our dedication to ushering in the next phase of gaming via zk-technology and effortless interoperability. This empowers players with true ownership and more engaging, interconnected experiences through this setup.

50,000 nodes will be accessible to the general public during a two-part release: First, the Whitelist Round on October 22nd, followed by the Public Round on October 24th. To secure a spot on the whitelist, interested parties can participate in Moonveil campaigns, AMAs (Ask Me Anything sessions), or collaborate with our partners’ initiatives.

Node activation expected to happen in Q1, 2025

Moonveil CEO MJ expresses gratitude for the backing provided by Polygon Labs and others during the node sale, encouraging further involvement from enthusiasts passionate about Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and Gaming Finance (GameFi), inviting them to participate in our program.

This investment underscores the promise of what we’re constructing, demonstrating both the past and future trajectory of web3 gaming. With Polygon Labs’ remarkable backing, we can supercharge our endeavor to establish a gaming environment that nurtures both players and creators. I am confident that our builder grant program’s expansion will stimulate innovation and draw elite developers towards Moonveil.

In simpler terms, Moonveil Nodes are essential for the platform’s plan to become more decentralized and will align with updates in Polygon CDK’s documentation (Gitbook). These node operators will help decentralize crucial aspects like Data Availability, Proof Verification, and Transaction Sequencing. These are key technologies that Moonveil provides to game developers on the EVM platform.

In Q1 of 2025, activation of nodes is planned, but only a quarter of the node operators’ tokens will become accessible immediately following the Token Generation Event (TGE). The rest, 70%, will be distributed over a period of three years. The remaining 5% of tokens have been set aside for community rewards, which are expected to begin shortly after the TGE.
