All Pyramid Encounters in Silent Hill 2 Remake

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must say that the Pyramid Head encounters in the Silent Hill 2 remake have been nothing short of terrifying. The first encounter in the Wood Side Apartments was enough to send chills down my spine, and every subsequent meeting only served to heighten the anxiety.

In the game Silent Hill 2, Pyramid Head serves as a menacing figure, fueling James’ turmoil in the Otherworld. As James frantically searches for his wife, Mary, Pyramid Head persistently pursues him, with his distinctive triangular helmet and trailing a metallic sword ominously across the ground.

In the game “Silent Hill 2” (2024), you’ll experience more than five encounters with Pyramid Head. The developers at Bloober Team have carefully crafted this terrifying creature to be as nerve-wracking as he was in the original version, with his imposing presence and challenging boss fights. Each encounter with Pyramid Head in “Silent Hill 2” is guaranteed to give players a chilling experience.

Spoilers ahead for Silent Hill 2

1st Encounter: Wood Side Apartments 2F

As James navigates Wood Side Apartments, he’ll eventually reach the 2F section using a 2F Hallway Key. Many doors might be locked along the way, but there’s a spooky red glow coming from a steel-barred exit that seems to block his escape. Behind those bars is where James first encounters Pyramid Head. Players can watch as this menacing figure stands motionlessly, focused on causing James distress. Later in the game, after solving the Coin Cabinet Puzzle and entering Room 201, players will witness a cutscene featuring Pyramid Head again.

2nd Encounter: Pyramid Head Boss Fight

As a gamer, I’ve just found myself in the grimy Blue Creek Apartments, a place that chills me to my core. The stench of decay and rust hangs heavy in the air, and the telltale claw marks on walls and floors make it clear that Pyramid Head is prowling these halls. But for now, I’m safe – at least until I can figure out the Blue Creep Apartments Clock Puzzle. Once solved, I’ll venture down to 1F through those double doors with an S etched into them. And when I do, who knows what horrors await?

The boss fight itself is fear-inducing due to Pyramid Head’s slow walk and huge dragging sword. The boss fight itself requires players to cause damage to Pyramid Head, either with their Wooden Plank or their Handgun. Damaging him in the body or the helmet enough will cause the ground to shake, which angers Pyramid Head to make his attacks faster. The best tactic is to keep distance between James and Pyramid Head and only shoot when the gap is long enough. After enough time, a bell will ring, and Pyramid Head will leave through the main doors.

3rd Encounter: Brookhaven Hospital (Otherworld)

Following the resolution of the Director’s Office Puzzle and ascending to the rooftop, players encounter a secluded chamber where they find a scrap of Diary Page on the ground. Upon grabbing it, they exit through the doors, only to be seized by Pyramid Head who violently hurls James back down through the flooring to the 3rd Floor in an alternate reality of Brookhaven Hospital, known as the Otherworld.

The ordeal for Pyramid Head isn’t finished just yet. Upon solving the Chained Box Puzzle and the Lady of the Door Puzzle on the second floor, players will have an opportunity to descend a staircase leading to a dimly lit red hallway where Pyramid Head pursues. Players must outrun Pyramid Head and survive, resisting any urge to look back and instead find safety within the elevator waiting at the end of the winding corridor.

4th Encounter: Flooded Level (Labyrinth)

As a gamer delving into the Labyrinth section, I’ll eventually stumble upon the eerie blue glow of the Desolate Area. Navigating this desolate zone will lead me to the Flooded Level, where a menacing figure known as Pyramid Head is hot on my tail. To claim the Inner Sanctum trophy and move forward, I must enter his room (Pyramid Head’s lair) and swiftly use my wirecutters to break through the weak wall. It’s important to note that Pyramid Head is confined to the Flooded Level, so a quick escape is crucial for survival.

5th Encounter: Ruined Area (Labyrinth)

Advance further into the Maze with the Spinning Cube until you reach the right red door, signaling it’s time to move forward through the Wrecked Sector. Every room in the Wrecked Sector requires a red door for passage, but to open it, players must first confront numerous monsters. Once players arrive at the room with a safe spot, the following corridor will witness Pyramid Head breaking through a wall. This initiates another chase, so simply run away from him towards the Strange Wall instead.

6th Encounter: Two Pyramid Heads Boss Fight

As you make your way through the Lakeview Hotel, you’ll ultimately arrive at the Otherworld. Following a scene featuring Angela and an exploration of the Employee Section, you’ll stumble upon a room displaying 9 save points on its walls. Beyond this room, through two large doors, awaits the climactic Pyramid Head boss battle – but this time, there will be not one, but two of them.

The two figures resembling Pyramid Heads carry javelins, occasionally hurling them at James. Since these characters aren’t particularly swift, it’s best to maintain some distance and take them down with your Rifle or get closer for some powerful Shotgun blasts and Lead Pipe attacks. As they sustain enough damage, the two Pyramid Heads will self-destruct using their javelins, leaving behind an egg from each that can be utilized to unlock the subsequent doors.
