Ripple CTO: Nobody Cares What Satoshi Wanted for Bitcoin

As a researcher with years of experience in the cryptocurrency industry, I find myself often intrigued by the ongoing saga of Craig Wright and his self-proclaimed status as Satoshi Nakamoto. However, my perspective on this matter has always been one grounded in practicality and the realities of technological development.

David Schwartz, who serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Ripple, has recently criticized self-declared Bitcoin founder Craig Wright, stating that it’s delusional to engage with his claims about the original intent of cryptocurrency.

In his latest social media post, Wright argued that Bitcoin Core developers should provide clear evidence that each modification made to Bitcoin aligns precisely with the original vision of cryptocurrency as proposed by Satoshi Nakamoto. He emphasized that simple similarities or general resemblances won’t suffice; instead, they must show that every change in Bitcoin strictly adheres to what Satoshi described in his documentation.

According to U.Today’s report, the Australian computer scientist known for his contentious reputation has taken legal action, filing a staggering £911 billion claim against the developers of Bitcoin Core.

As a dedicated cryptocurrency investor, I firmly believe that the core of this debate revolves around the original documents. To me, these foundational texts leave no wiggle room for alternate interpretations or straying from the established path.

In a different perspective, Schwartz argues that there’s no requirement for anyone to be concerned at all about Satoshi Nakamoto’s intentions for Bitcoin. This standpoint, indeed, resonates with the decentralized philosophy deeply embedded in the Bitcoin community.

As the individual who initially identified myself as Satoshi Nakamoto in 2016, I have found myself in a long-standing dispute with the Bitcoin community. Over the years, I’ve taken various legal measures in an attempt to establish my rightful claim to the technology that underpins Bitcoin.

In March, a British court determined that Bitcoin was not invented by Wright. Later in May, this self-declared creator of Bitcoin faced allegations from a UK judge that he manipulated evidence in the COPA case.
