In the midst of their deliberations regarding the Tournament for the Throne, Fabienne bursts into the room with an urgent announcement: Maria, daughter of Grius, has mysteriously vanished, and her whereabouts remain unknown. Given the circumstances, it falls on our protagonist to locate her and ensure her safe return home. However, there are no leads or clues as to her location, making the search all the more challenging. Here’s where we must focus our efforts.
How to Find Maria on 6/22 in Metaphor: ReFantazio
Maria can be found concealed within the Regalith Grand Cathedral, close to both the Recruitment Center and Market Square. This is also the location of the notable three-headed statue symbolizing the King’s chosen one, where Magla (MAG) rewards are claimed and Town Crier broadcasts his notices. Unfortunately, no quest marker guides players to Maria’s location, but there are subtle hints scattered en route that should lead you in the correct direction.
Immediately upon accepting Fabienne’s plea to rescue Maria, you’ll find yourself positioned right outside the quiet Honeybee Inn. In front of you stands a man dressed in grey attire. Engage him in conversation, and he will disclose that he spotted Maria near the stairs north of Sunshade Row, specifically by the General Store.
The store under discussion is Comfort Concoction, located at the far end of Sunshade Row, as shown in the image.
Talking to the Curt Man will create a quest marker for you to follow.
Speak with the Protester Woman standing by the store. She’d share that she noticed Maria going in the direction of the Grand Cathedral. Then, go up the stairs situated behind her to make your way there as well.
As a gamer, I’d say: “Head towards the Cathedral’s heart, that’s where the guard is posted. To locate Maria, speak with the guard stationed near the Cathedral. A brief scene will unfold, showing the guard informing us about a little girl who’s ventured inside the Cathedral. Following this, an interaction between me and Maria will ensue, where I console her and pledge to retrieve a photo from my upcoming adventure. With that promise made, Maria scampers back to the Hushed Honeybee, wrapping up the quest.
On the specified date of June 22nd, this narrative journey becomes conclusive. Incidentally, it’s the very same day when Maria vanishes. Progress in the game remains stagnant until Maria is located.
