Fans have been wondering what’s next for the Dragon Ball franchise since Dragon Ball DAIMA finished airing in early 2025. Many hoped for either a continuation of DAIMA, a new movie, or more chapters in Toyotarou’s Dragon Ball Super manga. A remake of Dragon Ball Super has been discussed for some time, and now that it’s happening, it’s a good sign for the future of the series. This gives the anime a chance to improve the animation, cut out unnecessary scenes, include content only found in the manga, and properly build up to the exciting storylines featuring Moro and Granolah. It will likely take a few years, but at this pace, Dragon Ball fans might finally see fully animated versions of Ultra Ego Vegeta, Black Frieza, and Goku’s final fight with Moro before 2030.
