Metaphor: ReFantazio – The Chalice vs. The Brew Quest Guide

As a seasoned adventurer who’s been through countless dungeons and cities in various fantasy realms, I must say that Brilehaven in Metaphor: ReFantazio is a breath of fresh air. The ocean-side town offers an abundance of side quests and sights to see, making it a perfect pitstop after my initial exhibition.

In the game “ReFantazio”, Brilehaven is the third significant city players will visit on their journey. Following your impressive performance at the initial exhibition, the player will be granted several leisure days to tackle numerous side quests and explore all the charms of this seaside town at their own pace.

In the district known as Arenafront Wharf, the players encounter a character named the Brewer who requests their help in finding the Legendary Chalice. He’s rather vague about its whereabouts. Though finding the chalice might appear to be a straightforward mission, the real challenge lies not in its discovery but in successfully obtaining it.

Where To Find The Chalice Of Legends In Metaphor: ReFantazio

In the Tomb of Lament, defeating the fearsome Fatolich earns you the fabled Chalice of Legends. This chalice is both the prize for slaying the creature and the objective of the Grieving Ghost of the Goblet bounty, which can be claimed at your local Recruitment Center. Upon your return to town after the deed is done, show the Chalice as evidence that you’ve completed the bounty before returning it to Bewer to finish the mission.

In my gaming world, I’d put it this way: “Gallica’s got my back; she’ll intervene if I’m about to give away that Chalice without properly wrapping up the bounty first.

How To Beat The Fatolich In Metaphor: ReFantazio

The Fatolich is weak to Light and Strike.

  • Bring a Cleric or Healer Archetype
  • Bring multiple Brawlers or Pugilists Archetypes

In the opening round of this battle, Fatolich will call forth a Chimenza that will cast a potent healing charm, restoring 1,750 health points to Fatolich. This event is guaranteed and unavoidable, regardless of the damage you inflict in your first turn. Therefore, it’s advisable to invest your initial turn in boosting your party’s abilities and weakening Fatolich’s defense rather than attacking. Attacking Fatolich directly during the first round would be largely ineffective under these circumstances.

At level 6, The Pugilist gains the Power Thrust ability, useful for weakening defenses when no items are available. The General Archetype also serves as a beneficial item, providing buffs to optimize your initial attack. A strategy is to prioritize buffs and debuffs during the first turn, focusing on offense for the second turn. Utilize every Press Turn symbol to attempt defeating Fatolich in just one turn since neither of its Press Turn icons will inflict damage. This way, you won’t need healing and can concentrate solely on dealing damage. After Fatolich is defeated, Chimenza becomes easier to vanquish due to its significantly lower stats.
