Guild Esports Acquired by DCB Sports For Just $130,000

As a seasoned gamer with decades under my belt, I’ve seen esports teams rise and fall like the tides. The recent news about Guild Esports being sold for just $130,000 has left me scratching my head. It’s akin to buying a Ferrari for the price of a used bicycle!

For several months, there had been talk about a complete takeover of Guild Esports, with many people thinking it was an attempt to save the brand that has faced financial troubles over the past few years. Now, this acquisition has been finalized, as DCB Sports LLC from the United States has fully bought out Guild Esports for a one-time cash payment of $130,000.

DCB now owns 100% of Guild’s assets – but that also includes outstanding liabilities and debts.

What does this mean for Guild Esports?

Times Are Changing

As a gamer, I’ve just heard some exciting news! According to recent reports, DCB Sports is taking over the Guild and giving it a fresh new identity as ‘Guild Esports and Gaming Ltd’. I can’t wait to see what this new brand has in store for us gamers. The $130,000 that DCB paid for the brand will be used to revitalize the remaining parts of the old Guild Esports PLC. And here’s another interesting tidbit: it looks like the original company is changing its name to ‘Cassel Capital PLC’ to avoid any potential confusion after this transaction goes through. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for us gamers with these changes!

Upon the reveal of the purchase, Jasmine Skee, CEO of Guild, decided to step down from her role within the company, leaving a position she had occupied for nearly two years.

In a full release published by Guild Esports PLC, it was written:

Jasmine Skee, head of Guild, has chosen to leave the company and relinquish her position on the Board, effective immediately, in order to explore fresh endeavors. The board expresses its gratitude to Ms. Skee for her substantial influence and strategic guidance during challenging times, especially her dedication to finalizing the Transaction. With Jasmine’s departure, the board will now consist of Derek Lew and Brian Stockbridge, Guild’s non-executive directors.

So far, Guild Esports has dedicated resources into numerous competitive landscapes, including Apex Legends, FIFA, PUBG, Fortnite, VALORANT, Fighting Game Community games, Rocket League, EA Sports FC, and many others. At present, the brand is gearing up to organize The Women’s Esports Finals, an event aimed at boosting visibility into the underrepresentation of female gamers within the esports sector.
