Ripple CEO Says IPO Is Not “High Priority”

As a seasoned crypto investor with over a decade of experience under my belt, I’ve witnessed the rise and fall of numerous digital assets. The recent statement by Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse regarding their IPO plans has piqued my interest.

In a recent interview on the “Thinking Crypto” podcast, Ripple‘s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, noted that an Initial Public Offering (IPO) is not currently one of Ripple’s main focus areas.

Currently, Ripple does not intend to become publicly traded as it is embroiled in a prolonged legal dispute with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The company emphasizes that the SEC is not acting as an ally or friend to Ripple.

Garlinghouse pointed out that many firms opt for an initial public offering primarily to secure additional funds. In contrast, Ripple has had the good fortune to maintain a robust financial status without this need.

“We have continued to make acquisitions.  We’ve continued to invest in lots of different projects around crypto, around XRP

Currently, an Initial Public Offering (IPO) is considered a less urgent matter or topic of discussion for Ripple, as stated by Garlinghouse. However, it’s important to note that the company hasn’t ruled out any possibilities.

“Ensuring our shareholders can easily convert their shares into cash is important to us. We strive for their satisfaction. Additionally, we aim to appraise our company fairly so as not to miss any opportunities… However, it’s not an immediate concern,” Garlinghouse noted.

Speculation about Ripple’s plans to go public has been swirling for years.

According to a report from U.Today, Garlinghouse had mentioned that Ripple might consider going public following the conclusion of its legal case with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Recently, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) submitted an appeal in the Ripple case, potentially leading to a lengthy court fight that may persist until as late as early 2026.

In 2022, Garlinghouse confidently predicted that Ripple would be a public company in the future.
