Just months after that, Jujutsu Kaisen also concluded, leaving One Piece as the only remaining top-tier series. However, a new manga, Kagurabachi, has emerged. Despite a rocky beginning, it’s quickly become one of the most popular new series, and it has now finished its first major story arc.
Kagurabachi Is The Biggest New Gen Shonen Manga
When people talk about modern manga, My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen often come to mind. However, those series have already had their moment, and a fresh wave of manga is now dominating Shonen Jump. Leading this new generation is Kagurabachi, which has quickly become the most popular new series. Created by artist Takeru Hokazono, Kagurabachi started appearing in Weekly Shonen Jump in late 2024.
Kagurabachi is a fantastic series about sorcerers and samurai, focusing on themes of revenge and finding peace. It’s quickly become a fan favorite over the past two years, and its popularity is only expected to increase. Among the latest manga releases, Kagurabachi stands out as a major hit, alongside another promising new series, Ichi the Witch, which is also predicted to become very popular soon.
Kagurabachi Part 1 Is Officially Over With Chapter 112
Chapter 112 of Kagurabachi was released earlier this week, bringing a thrilling arc to a close. Surprisingly, this chapter also marked the end of the first major section of the series. With 112 chapters completed, it’s possible we’re now halfway through the entire story.
Many fans likely expected this, as recent manga series are increasingly shorter. For example, Demon Slayer only lasted 205 chapters, and Jujutsu Kaisen, which finished just over a year ago, ended with 271. My Hero Academia was a bit different, running for 431 chapters. Sakamoto Days is also projected to end around the 200s, suggesting a trend for newer Shonen manga to conclude at that length. With Kagurabachi already at 112 chapters, it seems logical for the series to finish its initial arc soon.

The Excitement For Kagurabachi Part 2 Grows
I’m getting the impression we won’t have to wait at all for the next part of Kagurabachi! It looks like the story will jump right into Part 2 in the next issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. And honestly, I have a feeling Takeru Hokazono’s work is going to be even more thrilling from here on out.
Fans are eager to find out what happens in Kagurabachi Part 2, which starts later this week. It’s expected to be more action-packed than the first part, with tougher enemies and a more powerful main character. If the story follows common shonen trends, Chihiro will be significantly stronger, having grown from the battles he’s already faced.
