The battery puzzle in the Biodiversity Labs area of Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 is the first power puzzle you’ll face, and while it looks straightforward, it can be tricky, particularly if you’re new to the game. It’s not the only puzzle involving power you’ll need to solve to finish the chapter, but it’s the one that starts you off.

This guide will help you solve the first battery puzzle, allowing you to continue playing the game.

Biodiversity Labs Battery Puzzle Guide for Poppy Playtime Chapter 5

Once you’ve gone through the room with the big tree with orange pouches to break, you’ll enter a new area. Look for the yellow door marked “Utility.” Inside, you’ll find a battery you can pick up. Then, turn around and climb onto the boxes to find a panel you can break using your Pressurized hand.

You’ll now see two places to put batteries on the wall. First, put one battery in one of the slots. Then, find the second battery and put it in the other slot. Now, things get a little more challenging!

Use either hand to touch the switch located between the two battery compartments. If you do, the wire connected to your hand will light up blue, showing that it’s receiving electricity.

Do you see the two power boxes with the lightning bolt symbol? Red rods are sticking out of the top of each box. To open the door, you need to wrap the blue wire around both of those red rods, and then quickly reach for the electrical switch on the other side of the room.

  • Face the battery slots and shoot one of your arms at the switch in between them, and hold your arm there.
  • Back up, and move left, and around the first power box (the left one).
  • Repeat the same motion to wrap the wire a second time around the same power box.
  • Then, go past the battery slots and walk to the right, going behind the second power box (passing the terminal on the wall).
  • Walk through the middle of the area and loop back around the second power box as you just did.
  • Once you reach the power terminal on the wall, you should see two blue thunderbolt icons lit up, indicating that you’ve properly connected the power.
  • Now, shoot your unused hand at the switch, and the red door to the right will open, leading you to the next segment of your Poppy Playtime adventure.
