Even though Blackbeard is incredibly powerful and influential, his raw strength isn’t quite on par with other top-level characters. While his unique ability to wield multiple Devil Fruits is a huge advantage, it’s surprising he hasn’t focused more on developing Haki, which is now considered even more crucial for power.

He can use Haki, but so far he’s only demonstrated a basic level of Armament Haki. More advanced techniques like Future Sight or Conqueror’s Coating appear to be beyond his capabilities right now. This is important because the most powerful characters in the series are all incredibly skilled with Haki, and since Haki is the most effective way to fight Devil Fruit users, Teach currently seems at a disadvantage.

This idea stems from the fact that he already possesses two abilities, and the number three holds significant meaning for him – seen in details like his pirate flag, his missing teeth, and the number of weapons he carries. He currently has two Devil Fruits, one of which – the Darkness Logia – is widely considered the strongest of its type.

However, there’s another equally plausible and frightening idea about how Blackbeard will gain more power. After learning about Loki’s Devil Fruit ability in chapter 1174 of the manga, fans have been excitedly speculating about its impact on the upcoming Final War.
Interestingly, the form Loki takes as the Great Destroyer closely resembles the black dragon depicted at the top of the Elbaf mural, currently battling the giant Hellfire Serpent. If we interpret this literally, it suggests someone possesses a Devil Fruit ability that transforms them into the Hellfire Serpent – the only power seemingly capable of fighting Loki’s incredibly powerful Destroyer form.
Okay, so if the rumors are true about Blackbeard getting the Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: Hellfire Serpent? That could seriously change everything! I honestly think it’s the perfect Devil Fruit to push him up to the same terrifying level as Luffy, Loki, and even Imu in the Final War. Imagine Blackbeard with that kind of power – his strength would be completely off the charts, unlike anything we’ve ever seen!
The idea of the Hellfire Serpent is surprisingly old, stemming from stories the Giants of Elbaf tell about the Red Line. They see it as a terrifying creature, suggesting a possible link between the Red Line and the Serpent. The very existence of the Red Line might even prove the Hellfire Serpent and its related Devil Fruit are real.
