In Poppy Playtime Chapter 5, you’ll come across the Gel Cleaning Station in the Engineering Wing. Inside, you’ll see a big wind turbine and three red shapes displayed on a screen. Importantly, these shapes are different for each player, so a single solution won’t work for everyone. However, we can guide you through solving your specific puzzle!

Don’t forget to check for a secret room hidden under the staircase you entered through! It contains a very well-hidden gold trophy, so jump to the end of these instructions before going through the turbine to find it.

What Do the Shapes Mean?

First, remember the order of the three shapes from left to right. Then, use the black light to locate those same shapes near the switches by the turbine. Pull the switches that match, and you’ll know you’ve done it right when you hear a ping. Once you do, the spinning pole connected to the turbine will stop, allowing you to move on to the next step.

Then, if you are looking at the turbine, go to the right side of the room and look up. You’ll see a platform covered with magnetic panels.

To begin, firmly grasp the handle on the panel and pull it in your direction. Once it’s near the walkway, use it to pull yourself up and step onto the upper level of the Gel Cleaning Station.

To find a hidden room and item, head to the walkway across from the turbine controls. Look for a round valve near a yellow locked door and turn it. This will freeze the gel under the stairs you came in on, letting you smash it open with your glove. We’ll explain more about this later!

Now, step onto the central platform and face the turbine tunnel. You’ll notice a green switch on both the left and right sides. The switch on the right operates the first section of the turbine, while the switch on the left controls the second door.

First, push with your right hand, then your left. This will give you a clear view of the magnetic panel at the back of the tunnel, allowing you to propel yourself forward.

If you fall into the turbine, don’t panic! There’s a side entrance that will take you back to the Gel Cleaning Station where you can restart. But before you leave, remember that there’s a hidden Golden Chum collectible in the room, so be sure to look around!

Secret Room Puzzle Guide

Do you remember that valve we turned on the upper level? Now that it’s open, you can break the strange goo in the corner of the room to reveal a secret area. The puzzle inside is a bit tricky, so here’s how to solve it and get the Golden Chum collectible.

  1. Use the magnet strip on the ceiling to pull yourself to the higher level.
  2. Push the small storage box off the top floor and move it to the bottom level so you can jump over the pipes.
  3. For the machine on the lower level, hit the green switch and then immediately pull the lever before the liquid passes the red line.
  4. Go upstairs and do the same thing for the other machine, but wait to pull the lever until the liquid passes between the two green solid lines.
  5. You can now twist the red valve upstairs, and it’ll freeze the goo on the lower level. Now, you can break it with your pressurized hand.
  6. Before you climb up the magnetic wall behind the smashed goo, you’ll find a small red button that will open a door upstairs. Stand in front of the magnetic wall, and launch a hand at the switch to give yourself more time.
  7. Now, climb up the wall, turn around, and then launch yourself at the opposite magnetic panel to reach the walkway.
  8. Run through the door and then drop down to find the Golden Chum collectible.

After that, you need to solve a power puzzle in the Engineering Bay and collect three memories before heading to Reanimation.
