Resident Evil Village: How To Complete The Mia Doll Puzzle

Entering the Beneviento house might initially feel uneventful. But when you encounter Angie in the basement and suddenly find yourself in the dark, stripped of your weapons and supplies, you’ll quickly understand how truly frightening it is.

To get out of House Beneviento in Resident Evil Village, you need to solve the Doll Workshop puzzle. We’ve broken down every step to help you succeed, avoid danger, and overcome the challenges within.

Step 1: Acquire the Silver Key, Blood Covered Ring, and Winding Key

Once you enter the Doll Workshop, you’ll see the Mia doll on the table. You’ll need to remove a few things from it, but let’s start with the most basic items first.

Silver Key: Interact with Mia’s right arm and raise your hand up to her shoulder to remove it and find the Silver Key.
Blood Covered Ring: Interact with Mia’s left hand and slide the Blood Covered Ring off of her finger.
Winding Key: Interact with Mia’s left leg to pull it off and reveal the Winding Key from within the stump.

Step 2: Clean the Blood Covered Ring to Escape the Doll Workshop

Now that you have the Silver Key and the Blood Covered Ring, you can start making progress. Use the Silver Key on the door in the east side of the Doll Workshop to unlock the Medicine Room.

To clean the Blood Covered Ring and turn it into a Wedding Ring, wash it with the sink. When you examine the Wedding Ring, you’ll see the numbers 05-29-11 engraved inside. This is the code you need to unlock and open the main doors of the Doll Workshop.

Step 3: Solve the Music Box Puzzle to Get the Tweezers

Now that the main doors are open, head down the corridor and go into the Storage Room. Inside, you’ll find a wedding music box. You can use the music box and insert the Winding Key into it. To solve the puzzle, you need to align each cylinder with the matching scratches.

Feel free to use the image above as a guide. When you’re ready, play the music box. If you do it right, you’ll get the Tweezers. Then, go back to the Doll Workshop and open the doll’s mouth. Use the Tweezers to grab the Film.

Step 4: Complete the Film Projector Puzzle to Get the Scissors

After getting the Film from the doll, head down the hallway to the Study. There, you’ll discover four Film strips, and you can add the fifth one you found to start the puzzle. Your goal is to arrange all five Film strips in the same order as shown on the ‘Our Happy Family’ note.

1: Monkey toy (Rose’s best friend)
2: Village Shadows book (fairytale)
3: Baby Rose (most important thing in the world)
4: Music box (gift from grandma)
5: Wedding ring (everlasting love)

When you play the correct sequence, the video will trigger the projector screen to lower, revealing a secret passage behind the bookshelves. Go through the passage and find the Scissors – they’re held by a doll. Use the Scissors to cut through the bandages blocking your exit, then return to the Doll Workshop.

Step 5: Open the Door with 3 Symbols to Get the Breaker Box Key

Okay, so I’m back in the Doll Workshop, and finally managed to get the Brass Medallion! I just had to use the Scissors on the doll’s bandaged chest. Now I need to find the other two symbols to unlock that door in the northwest corner of the room. Turns out they’re hidden by checking out the doll’s eye and her right hand. Now I just need to figure out the code…

Left symbol: Bird facing east within a triangle
Right symbol: Brass Medallion
Bottom symbol: Three shut eyes

Walk down the long hallway to the Old Well, then climb down the ladder to find the Breaker Box Key. Once you have the key, return to the Doll Workshop and go back through the long hallway. The Breaker Box, located in the room across from the Study, holds the Relief of a Child item.

You’ll now face a large, dangerous baby. If it touches you, you’ll instantly die, so make sure to steer clear and take different paths to avoid it.

Step 6: Open the Mother Door and Get the Fuse

In the Doll Workshop, go past the Medicine Room and look for a door with a mother statuette. You can now place the missing Relief of a Child piece in the door, which will unlock it. Then, quickly go downstairs through the Kitchen to the Bedroom, and you’ll find the Fuse in the corner.

As you go back upstairs, a large baby will show up, so be ready to quickly run back down to the Bedroom and hide under the bed. When the baby turns around, come out from under the bed and go back upstairs to the Doll Workshop.

Step 7: Place the Fuse into the Breaker Box and Escape

After you go upstairs with the Fuse, head through the hallway to the Breaker Box – the same place where you found the Relief of a Child. Now, put the Fuse into the Breaker Box and call the elevator. Be aware that it won’t come right away; you’ll need to hold out for a minute or two before it arrives.

Okay, so here’s what I figured out to escape. You need to run into the Study and use things like the table to stay away from that giant baby! After about a minute or two of dodging, quickly run back into the elevator room and get inside. The instant you hit the button to go up, you’re safe – the baby can’t reach you anymore! It’s such a relief to finally be free from that creepy thing!

Next, you’ll face Angie in a boss fight that plays out like a game of hide-and-seek. Don’t worry about the large baby you see down below – once you’ve moved on, you won’t be able to return to that elevator, and honestly, you wouldn’t want to!
