The second Bounty Pack for Borderlands 4, titled ‘Legend of the Stone Demon’, will be released on February 26, 2026. It includes new content and, more importantly, introduces the highly anticipated Pearlescent weapons. While the Bounty Pack itself is exciting, the addition of these rare weapons is expected to have a bigger impact on how players enjoy the game in the long run.
Borderlands 4 was generally considered a successful revival of the series, earning positive reviews – an average score of 82 from top critics on OpenCritic. Many fans were disappointed with Borderlands 3, so this new installment felt like a return to the series’ roots, while still trying something new with a more expansive open world. However, despite a strong launch in September 2025, the game has quickly lost players, even with Gearbox releasing numerous updates. The developers now face the challenge of attracting players back to the game in 2026 and beyond.
Borderlands 4’s Bounty Pack 2 Launches February 26, Coming With Pearlescent Weapons
Okay, so Borderlands 4 is getting a new Bounty Pack called ‘Legend of the Stone Demon’ on February 26th! It comes with a new mission – we’re talking three mini-bosses and a big final boss to take down. The coolest part? There’s a new Vault Card that lets you unlock a ton of awesome mecha and kaiju-themed cosmetics. I’m talking skins for all the Vault Hunters, weapon skins, heads, ECHO-4 attachments and drones, even vehicle skins – a total of 24 items! Plus, you can unlock four pieces of gear just by doing the daily and weekly challenges. If you beat the new mission, you’ll get another Vault Hunter skin and a brand-new vehicle to drive around Kairos. Good news if you grabbed the Deluxe or Super Deluxe Edition – you automatically get this Bounty Pack. If you have the standard edition, you’ll need to buy the Bounty Pack Bundle to get all this new content.

On February 26th, alongside the release of Bounty Pack 2, Gearbox is introducing a new, very rare weapon type called Pearlescent to Borderlands 4. These weapons are designed to be even more powerful than Legendary ones, but won’t be easy to find – they’ll drop slightly more often than the extremely rare Phosphene items. This addition will significantly change the loot game, making Pearlescent weapons highly desirable. To help players start collecting them, Gearbox is adding a new world event that can be repeated at three locations: Fadefields, Carcadia Burn, and Terminus Range. This event will offer a way to farm Pearlescent gear with different combat challenges. Importantly, you don’t need to buy Bounty Pack 2 to access the new Pearlescent weapons; it’s a free update for all players. However, some exclusive Pearlescent items will only be available through the Bounty Pack.
Fans of Borderlands 4 have more content to look forward to in 2026. Gearbox will release the first story expansion, “Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned,” next month. This is the biggest update so far, introducing a new playable character called C4SH, who was revealed back in September. The game’s plans for 2026 also include a second story expansion later in the year and a total of five smaller Bounty Packs. It remains to be seen if these additions will bring more players back to Borderlands 4.
