Jujutsu Kaisen Officially Reveals Two Sorcerers That Replaced Gojo And Sukuna

The main story of Jujutsu Kaisen concluded with the intense Shinjuku Showdown, where Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, was defeated through the combined efforts of Japan’s most powerful young sorcerers. Now, a sequel spin-off titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo is underway, taking place 68 years after the battle with Sukuna.

Over the past 68 years, the global balance of power has shifted, including the ranking of the most powerful sorcerers in Japan. With Gojo and Sukuna both defeated in Shinjuku, two new sorcerers have risen to prominence, as shown in the continuation of the story. Yuji Itadori, who now wields Sukuna’s power, and Yuta Okkotsu, Gojo’s student, have taken their place at the top.

Gojo And Sukuna Were The Strongest Sorcerers Of The Old Era

Gojo and Sukuna Fought In Shinjuku

Honestly, when you look back at the greatest sorcerers, Gojo and Sukuna were just on another level! Gojo Satoru was the strongest of our time, and it all came down to the incredible gifts he was born with – the Limitless and the Six Eyes. Having both of those together meant he was so powerful that his very birth seemed to change everything. But he didn’t just rely on natural talent; he pushed himself to master his abilities, and with his hard work and cleverness, he truly became the strongest sorcerer there ever was.

Ryomen Sukuna, known as the King of Curses, originally lived during the Heian Era but was reborn in the present day through a deal with Kenjaku. He possessed power equal to Gojo Satoru, but many found his presence even more intimidating. Considered the strongest sorcerer ever, Sukuna’s fight against Gojo in Shinjuku proved they were evenly matched. Both were incredibly powerful, unlike anything the world had seen in centuries. Ultimately, Sukuna defeated and killed Gojo, but was then immediately defeated and killed himself by Yuji Itadori, the series’ main character.

The Two Strongest After Shinjuku Showdown

Years after the famous Shinjuku battle in Jujutsu Kaisen, it’s now confirmed that Yuta Okkotsu and Yuji Itadori were the two most powerful sorcerers of their time. During the conflicts in Tokyo in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, the author, Gege Akutami, showed a scene where Rika (controlling Tsurugi Okkotsu) and Yuji Itadori both unleashed incredibly strong attacks. These attacks were as powerful as Sukuna’s Divine Flame and Gojo’s Hollow Purple, clearly demonstrating that Rika and Yuji’s power rivaled that of Gojo and Sukuna at their peak.

  • Maru confirmed that Yuta Okkotsu possessed an incredible amount of cursed energy, judging by the power he infused into the Rika ring. This showed just how strong Yuta had become after the Shinjuku Showdown, nearing his full potential as a sorcerer. Yuji Itadori also achieved immense power, fully realizing his abilities and mastering Sukuna’s Shrine. On top of that, he learned to control Blood Manipulation and may even be able to consistently use Black Flashes.

Considering everything, it’s clear that Yuta and Yuji were the most powerful sorcerers after Gojo and Sukuna. They weren’t just on par with these legends, but had the potential to become even stronger. Their impact on the Jujutsu world remains significant, and they’re remembered as some of the greatest sorcerers of all time. Fans are hoping to see more of their stories, perhaps in a future project by Gege Akutami.
