Boruto: Why The Fifth Great Ninja War Is Coming Soon

The Fourth Great Ninja War was a defining event in the Naruto series, easily the most significant arc in the entire story. It took up a large portion of Naruto Shippuden and featured the most epic battles and intense action. Unlike previous conflicts, this war wasn’t between ninja villages; instead, all the ninja nations joined forces to fight a common enemy: the Akatsuki, who aimed to revive the Ten-Tails and enact their Eye of the Moon plan.

As a huge fan, I remember when everything kicked off – the Fourth Great Ninja War was all about protecting Naruto and Killer B, and finally taking down the Akatsuki. It was intense! Now, jumping forward over a decade into the Boruto series, things are getting scary again. There’s a real possibility we’re heading towards another massive conflict, and people are starting to call it the Fifth Great Ninja War. It’s seriously worrying!

Why The Fifth Great Ninja War Is Possible In Boruto

A War Bigger Than The Fourth Great War

It seemed unlikely another major ninja war would happen in the Boruto series, especially after the Fourth Great Ninja War brought the five great villages together and aimed to prevent future conflicts. The defeat of the Akatsuki organization also removed a significant cause for war. However, even with this unity, new and powerful threats have emerged in the current era. To combat these dangers and protect the world, another ninja war – potentially called the Fifth Great Ninja War – could still occur in Boruto.

The upcoming Fifth Great Ninja War will likely resemble the Fourth, with the five major ninja villages uniting against a new enemy. This time, instead of the Akatsuki – who are no longer around – the threat is the Shinju, who appear to be growing more powerful. Code created the Shinju using his unique Claw Marks, applying this power to the Ten-Tails. This resulted in the creation of the Claw Grimes, beings driven to consume chakra.

The age of shinobi is over, Boruto. — Kawaki

It’s amazing how these chakra-based beings evolved! They actually started developing their own consciousness after absorbing enough energy, and they even began creating unique forms based on the humans they consumed. The coolest part? The original 10 Tails actually reincarnated as Jura, who’s considered the most powerful of them all! We’ve already seen a few of these Shinju fall, but the real threats, Hidari and Jura, are still out there, and honestly, those two could cause some serious, world-altering chaos.

The Shinjuu are incredibly difficult to defeat, possessing immense power and the ability to use the Claw Grimes. They’re strong enough to overwhelm all five ninja villages and wipe out the entire shinobi race. This potential destruction is what’s likely to trigger the Fifth Great Ninja War in the Boruto series, adding a lot of tension and excitement to the story.

The Age Of Shinobi Will End In The Fifth Great Ninja War

The Shinju Could End Shinobi Forever

I remember when the Boruto series started, one of the first things Kishimoto and Ikemoto showed us was pretty shocking. Right away, they told us the age of ninjas was officially over. Kawaki said it first, and Boruto confirmed it, making it clear that ninjas, as we knew them, were gone – one way or another.

I am still a shinobi! — Boruto Uzumaki

Many fans immediately blame Kawaki for the potential destruction of the ninja world, but his true aim is simply to defeat the Otsutsuki clan and he isn’t responsible for any current threats. The real danger might be the Shinju, a powerful being that could grow strong enough to destroy all the ninja villages. It’s important to remember that Shikamaru has pointed out the Shinju are still developing, almost like children, meaning they could be defeated now, but will be much harder to handle later. If they continue to grow quickly, they could easily wipe out the ninja world. To prevent this, the five great villages will probably need to unite and fight a new war—a fifth Great Ninja War—but this time against the Shinju themselves.

The Boruto Series Will Likely End After The Ninja War

If a full-scale Fifth Great Ninja War happens in Boruto, it would bring together all the strongest shinobi to battle the incredibly powerful Shinju. This would allow many characters to showcase their skills in combat, and give older, underused characters from the original Naruto series a chance to take the lead, making the conflict even more thrilling. However, considering the series’ setup, the war would come at a huge cost for the ninja world. It’s likely this conflict will culminate in a final battle between Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki, ultimately bringing the Boruto series to a close.

  • The world will undergo significant changes before heroes like Naruto Uzumaki can return. Currently, the Shinju aren’t a major threat to ninjas, but they will inevitably grow in power and knowledge, eventually aiming to destroy the ninja system altogether. A large-scale war is coming, and fans are excited to see how everything unfolds.

Previously, heroes like Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura saved the world. Now, it’s the next generation of ninjas who will take the lead. They’ll have to prove themselves by battling incredibly strong enemies and protecting everyone. Hopefully, the Boruto series will bring this story to a satisfying end.

Boruto can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
