Eiichiro Oda’s Newest Record Proves One Piece Is The Greatest Story Of All Time

Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, which began in 1997, is a landmark achievement in manga. Still published weekly in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump after nearly 30 years, the series has allowed Oda to break numerous records in the comic book industry. Now, he’s achieved an even greater feat: becoming the best-selling author of all time with a single series. One Piece alone has made Oda a global phenomenon, solidifying its place as one of the greatest stories ever told.

One Piece is the world’s best-selling manga series, and it’s been the most popular for over ten years. With 113 volumes in circulation and over 580 million copies sold, it far surpasses any other manga. That’s an incredible 5 million copies sold on average for each volume!

It’s remarkable that Oda has managed to keep fans hooked with his story for over 30 years, consistently delivering captivating content in every volume. Maintaining such a dedicated audience for decades is incredibly difficult, and places him among the greatest storytellers ever.

One Piece’s Success Makes Oda The Best Selling Single Series Author

Everyone familiar with manga knows Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, has the highest sales figures. One Piece sells far more copies than the second best-selling series, Doraemon. But when you look at all authors, not just manga artists, Oda still stands out. Surprisingly, he’s currently the best-selling author of all time based on sales from a single work. No other author has achieved such high sales with just one published book. While J.K. Rowling has sold more books overall, that’s because she’s written multiple series – which is expected.

Eiichiro Oda has done something incredible with One Piece. It’s very possible that, in the coming years, it could even outsell the Harry Potter series. This is largely because One Piece is finally gaining widespread popularity outside of Japan, where it’s been incredibly popular for decades. Several factors are driving this growth, including the consistently high quality of the One Piece anime, the successful live-action adaptation, and the upcoming remake by WIT Studio. Generally, anime and manga are more popular than ever, and One Piece, often considered the pinnacle of manga, is reaping the benefits.

I’ve been watching One Piece for a while now, and it’s incredible how popular it remains! From what I understand, the manga still has at least five to seven years left, and as we get closer to the ending, it’s only drawing more people in. It’s possible that a surge in both older volumes being bought and new readers joining during this final stretch could send sales numbers soaring. Some are even predicting it could eventually surpass 700 million copies sold, which would be amazing! Right now, the story is deep into the Elbaf arc, which is a key part of this Final Saga designed to finally bring everything to a close.
