Introduction
It’s been a huge week for gaming news, and the next one looks just as exciting! This is the most comprehensive news roundup I’ve put together in years – maybe ever since I started doing these. Highlights include the upcoming Steam Next Fest 2026, the launch of the Burden of Command Three Nations DLC, a release date announcement for Slay the Spire 2, and a brand new dinosaur-themed real-time strategy game from MicroProse.
I’ve split this long article into multiple pages to help it load faster. There’s also a table of contents so you can easily find the sections you’re most interested in – all to make your reading experience better!

Steam Next Fest 2026 Starts In Two Days

I’ve really enjoyed the trend of Steam Fests over the past five years – the first one actually happened exactly five years ago! The next one, Steam Next Fest 2026, starts on February 23rd and runs until March 2nd. It’s exciting to see so many new games release demos, and it’s a great way for players to discover future favorites. I’ll be traveling next week, so my gaming time will be limited, but I plan to try out some demos as soon as I get home and share my recommendations.
Slay The Spire 2 Early Access Releases March 5th
Great news for fans of the hit card game Slay the Spire! A sequel is launching in Early Access on March 5th, 2026. Slay the Spire 2 promises updated graphics, two new playable characters, a wider variety of cards and enemies, and a deeper story. Are you planning to check it out?
MicroProse Software Announces RTS With Dinos Called Repterra
MicroProse is expanding its game collection with the addition of Repterra, a thrilling base-building and survival strategy game. Imagine a world where dinosaurs rule the Earth – that’s the setting! From the gameplay trailer, it looks like a mix of games like They Are Billions and Age of Darkness, but instead of fighting zombies or monsters, you’ll be battling over 100,000 dinosaurs – T. Rexes, Raptors, and more! It sounds a bit crazy, but incredibly fun. The game also lets you tame and breed dinosaurs, which might explain how some of them breathe fire!
Burden of Command Three Nations DLC Releases This Week
The strategy game Burden of Command is getting its first downloadable content, titled ‘Three Nations.’ Despite the name, it actually includes four playable nations and five missions. You’ll get three new armed forces – British and American paratroopers, and the German Wehrmacht – each with unique strategies and ways to play. Four of the missions focus on the famous capture of Pegasus Bridge, letting you experience it from different sides, and the final mission centers on taking Meyers’ Hill. I’ve enjoyed playing the DLC, though I do wish it had the lengthy campaign that made the original game one of the best and most memorable World War II wargames ever.
