I’m seriously excited about Boruto: Two Blue Vortex! It’s amazing seeing a new generation of shinobis taking center stage, and Sarada Uchiha is a standout. As the daughter of Sasuke and Sakura, she’s inherited the powerful Sharingan, and she’s destined to become a major player. She’s basically the heir to the Uchiha clan and is completely focused on becoming Hokage. You can tell she’s dedicated years to intense training, and it’s really paid off – she’s become an incredibly skilled ninja!
Sarada Uchiha has become incredibly powerful, even unlocking the Mangekyo Sharingan, making her one of the strongest young ninjas today. However, using the Mangekyo Sharingan always has a cost – it damages the user’s eyesight. It’s now confirmed that Sarada Uchiha is gradually losing her vision.
Sarada Uchiha Awakened The Mangekyo Sharingan In The Land Of Wind
I remember a time shortly before the Boruto series jumped ahead in time, and Sarada was starting to develop some incredible abilities, though she didn’t fully realize it then. It wasn’t until later, when she was in the Land of Wind, that she really understood and gained control over her powers. The turning point, I think, was the battle against Shinju Ryu. Seeing Yodo make such a sacrifice really triggered something within Sarada, and she awakened her Mangekyo Sharingan. It was amazing to witness – her visual skills went to a completely new level after that.

Sarada Uchiha’s Ohirume ability lets her control black holes and gravity. She can create up to four black holes, adjusting their size with her chakra. These black holes have incredibly strong gravitational pull, which Sarada can precisely control – choosing what it affects and even using it to lift herself. The gravity is so powerful that opponents are helpless, drawn into the black holes where Sarada can destroy them completely, leaving nothing behind.

Sarada defeated Ryu with a powerful, single attack, and recently, she effortlessly destroyed sixteen clones of Mamushi in Konoha with one move. Her use of the Ohirume jutsu is remarkably strong, arguably one of the most powerful techniques ever seen in the Naruto universe. However, using this jutsu comes with a significant cost: it damages her eyesight.

Using the Mangekyo Sharingan always results in blindness, which isn’t unexpected. Sasuke began losing his vision soon after awakening his, and by the time of the Five Kage Summit, his eyesight was severely impaired and extremely blurry. Ultimately, he needed a transplant from Itachi to restore his vision and overcome this permanent blindness.

Sarada Uchiha is facing a similar issue. Using her Ohirume ability is already causing her vision to deteriorate. After dealing with Mamushi’s clones, Sarada’s vision became blurry, indicating the power’s negative effects are kicking in. If she doesn’t find a way to reverse it, she risks going completely blind.
How Will Sarada Uchiha Avoid Permanent Blindness?
Sarada currently has two potential paths to overcome her blindness. One is receiving a Sharingan transplant from a close family member, which could unlock the powerful Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. Similar to how Sasuke obtained Itachi’s eyes, Sarada would need a family member’s Sharingan to restore her sight. The other option is to become a skilled medical ninja and master the Byakugo technique, like her mother, granting her powerful healing abilities that could offset the vision loss caused by the Mangekyo Sharingan. This would allow her to use the Mangekyo without sacrificing her eyesight. Currently, Sarada’s blindness is progressing, but it’s likely she’ll find a way to save her vision in the future.
