Over the past few years, Jujutsu Kaisen has become a huge hit for Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The manga has sold more than 150 million copies, and sales continue to rise thanks to the popular anime series. While the original manga concluded in 2024, the author, Gege, launched a sequel called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo in 2025.
It looks like Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo is nearing its end in the manga. The sequel, which takes place 68 years after the original story, will finish with the next few chapters. The final volume, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Volume 3, will be released on May 1st, 2026. This means fans will likely have to say goodbye to this popular series, unless the author, Gege, decides to continue the story with another sequel.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Volume 3 Releases On May 1st, 2026
The Final Volume of The Sequel Story
Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo offers a fresh take on the manga, taking place 68 years after the events of the Sukuna Raid. This new story is set in a future where humans encounter aliens from the planet Simuria, who come seeking peaceful coexistence. Even though it’s a short series, Modulo has already captivated readers with compelling new characters – including descendants of familiar faces and entirely original creations. The story also brings back some fan favorites like Yuji Itadori and Mahito, making it a truly engaging experience.
This short series is wrapping up soon. From the beginning, the creator, Gege Akutami, planned for only three volumes, and that’s how it’s turned out. The third and final volume, Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo Volume 3, will be released on May 1st, 2026. By then, the manga will have already concluded its run in Weekly Shonen Jump.
The story of JJK Modulo is nearing its conclusion, with only about two chapters remaining. Everything is coming to a close, and the world within the series is about to undergo a significant shift. These final chapters will resolve the conflict between humans and Simurians. According to the author, this volume will likely be the last, and given how the story is unfolding, it’s highly improbable that the series will continue beyond May unless there’s a change of heart.

Volume 3 of the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo series will probably highlight Yuji Itadori and Maru. They haven’t appeared on a cover yet, and with their important roles in recent events, it would be a good time to feature them.
What To Expect From Jujutsu Kaisen After Modulo Volume 3 Release
It’s no surprise fans worldwide are disappointed that Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has finished. The sequel did very well, even though it didn’t focus much on the original characters. The creator, Gege, introduced a compelling new story with fresh characters like Yuka, Tsurugi, Maru, Cross, and Dabura, and they quickly became fan favorites despite not being part of the original series.
Now that the Modulo arc has concluded, it feels like Jujutsu Kaisen’s story is finished. However, creator Gege Akutami has expressed a desire to continue making manga, similar to what happened after finishing ‘Elusive Samurai.’ This suggests a possible return, which could be a continuation of Jujutsu Kaisen or an entirely new series. The world and characters of Jujutsu Kaisen still offer plenty of opportunities for future stories, including both sequels and prequels.

Even with the manga finished, Jujutsu Kaisen fans still have a lot of anime to enjoy. The third season is currently airing and is only halfway through. After Season 3 ends around late 2026, a fourth season or some movies are planned to wrap up the main story. And after that, there’s hope that the Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo story will also get an anime adaptation.
