As someone who’s spent countless hours battling hordes of the undead in Black Ops 6, I can confidently say that each explosive offers its unique charm and challenges.
Occasionally, mere weapons such as two guns and a knife won’t suffice to push the undead horde from Black Ops 6 Zombies back into their decaying lairs. At times, it requires something more potent and flamboyant – an explosive and fiery tool – to truly charbroil those zombies and display the ability to achieve high rounds like a seasoned pro in this game.
In Black Ops 6’s Zombie mode, an abundance of lethal tools are available for players to master, allowing them to excel beyond expectations and annihilate the hordes of undead. Armed with the finest equipment, players will be well-informed on how to allocate their Salvage, and what items to include in their Zombie setup.
8 Molotov
Burn Zombies at Slow Damage Speeds
- Thrown incendiary weapon creates a patch of flames.
- Unlocked at Level 32
- 350 Salvage
The Molotov cocktail is straightforward and not particularly refined; it offers players limited deadly tools, suggesting they leave them untouched or use them to alleviate the anxiety brought on by endless zombie swarms. Essentially, a Molotov cocktail is just a bottle filled with alcohol, lit fuse, and a rag, and it incinerates hordes at considerable risk.
In a more conversational style, here’s how you could rephrase that: In Black Oops 6, if you use the flamethrower and leave a burn spot, it could harm you when you move there later. Also, since trains in the game will be quite costly, setting fire to a horde of zombies right behind you might be excessively risky, as the potential reward isn’t really worth the danger.
7 Thermo Grenade
Slowly Release Explosives Into the Air
- Creates a large fuel-air cloud that explodes after a duration.
- Unlocked at Level 21
- 350 Salvage
The Thermo Grenade has room for improvement and zombies don’t seem to be affected much by its explosive effect. Despite its impressive appearance, it seems to lack the destructive power it should have.
The gap between launching the Thermal Grenade and feeling its impact is quite chaotic, implying that zombies might have moved through the blast area unaware of the impending explosion.
6 Blast Trap
A Trip Mine With Delayed Explosive Potential
- Planted explosive device detonates when enemies come near.
- Unlocked at Level 41
- 350 Salvage
The Blast Trap seems like a more advanced version of the classic Trip Mine, as it can be planted on the ground and will explode once enemies are close enough. The explosive radius is decent, but it suffers from the same problem as other Trip Mine Lethals.
The Blast Trap can easily disrupt zombie trains, and those who forget where they planted one might find themselves suffering for it, as a Blast Trap can create unwanted crawlers and a disruption of a train that was well maintained.
5 Combat Axe
A Throwable Axe That Can Be Picked Back Up
- Throwing axe that bounces off surfaces and kills in one hit. Can be retrieved and thrown again.
- Unlocked at Level 53
- 200 Salvage
It’s quite thrilling to approach zombies closely, despite their breath carrying an unpleasant stench of decay and maggots. The proximity is worthwhile since it allows for a satisfying experience of wielding the sharp and lethal Combat Axe, a historic tomahawk reminiscent of the past, which can pierce through zombies and instantly end their lives on most lower impact levels.
The Battle Axe possesses a useful feature – it’s reusable, meaning players can retrieve it effortlessly from the ground or the body it’s lodged in, without the requirement for salvage. Yet, it’s important to note that this weapon can only dispatch one zombie at a given moment, and there seems to be an overwhelming number of them.
4 C4
Detonate a Powerful Explosive to Eliminate Hordes
- Sticky explosive with large damage radius. Detonate remotely with E/L1/LB. Double-tap F/L1/LB for a quick detonation.
- Unlocked at Level 14
- 400 Salvage
The C4 is potentially harmful to both players and zombie mobs since it must be thrown against a stationary surface like a wall or floor, then detonated for maximum destructive effect. However, the throwing speed of the C4 may not always meet expectations, which could pose a problem.
Keep in mind that the reach of C4’s explosion is quite substantial. Therefore, if you happen to be within the blast area, it would be prudent to stay cautious. For gamers, I’d recommend using PhD Flopper as a precautionary measure against any explosive damage that can potentially be evaded.
3 Frag
The Classic Cookable Grenade
- Cookable fragmentation grenade.
- 250 Salvage
There’s no match for the charm of a timeless favorite, and the Frag Grenade certainly falls into this category. The joy lies in pulling the pin and counting down those 5 seconds before chaos ensues. However, the one consistent challenge with the Frag is that players might miss the window to toss it, accidentally triggering the explosion themselves.
The problem with the Frag arises because it can move around and collide with opponents, potentially returning an exploded projectile towards the user, or rolling away to a spot where it inflicts no harm.
2 Semtex
A Sticky Grenade That Attaches to Zombies
- Reliable sticky grenade with a timed fuse.
- Unlocked at Level 9
- 250 Salvage
The Semtex solves an ongoing issue with Frag Grenades, as it prevents them from rolling away and missing their marks. Instead, when thrown at a zombie, the Semtex adheres firmly, leaving no possibility for detachment, and ensuring a certain demise for the target.
As a gamer, I’ve found that the Semtex is an absolute game-changer. With its explosive power, I can toss it and dash off, safely detonating the zombie horde on my train without worrying about the grenade bouncing around and causing unwanted damage elsewhere.
1 Impact Grenade
An Instant Explosive for Quick Dealings with the Undead
- Precision grenade that explodes on impact.
- Unlocked at Level 26
- 350 Salvage
For swiftly exploding enthusiasts in gameplay, the Impact Grenade is an excellent choice, detonating instantly upon contact with any surface. In tense situations where ammo runs low and hordes are closing in, this grenade allows players to react promptly by detonating it immediately, obliterating crawlers and their guts without any waiting period for a cook time.
The Impact Grenade works exceptionally well alongside PhD Flopper because it spares players from taking self-inflicted explosive damage when hordes are nearby. This means they can focus solely on the excitement of launching potent grenades.
