The latest Palia quest, A Thousand Slimy Things, sends you on a surprising journey to find the final Flowflower. As you piece together the mystery, you’ll learn the truth about Ulfe, but he must first face difficult memories to move forward.

How to Complete ‘A Thousand Slimy Things’ Quest in Palia

Once you finish “The Road Not Taken” quest in Palia, a marker will appear on your Zone Compass, guiding you to Tamala. Talking to her will start the next quest, “A Thousand Slimy Things,” and begin the mystery of finding the last Flowflower – ultimately revealing who Ulfe really is.

This last challenge involves the Echo linked to Ulfe, so you’ll need to return to the passageway leading to the Zendruu Tree. There, you’ll find a stuffed animal from the “Even As a Shadow” quest tangled in thorny vines. Use the nearby water pedestal and your Watering Can to fill it – this will give you a temporary power-up to clear away the vines.

Give the plush toy to Ulfe—it will remind him of difficult times—then continue following the quest marker down the hall to the next puzzle. You’ll use the water pedestal again, pouring water into it to get a boost that lets you destroy the vines blocking the ring box.

Talk to Ulfe again. He’ll share recent memories connected to the ring box and then suggest you head to the next room, which is just nearby. You’ll find a living area with three objects tangled in thorny vines, and a water pedestal close by.

Use the Watering Can to pour water into the pedestal. This will clear the vines blocking the three objects, allowing you to see what they are. Once you interact with each object, you’ll learn more about it and have dialogue choices before you can choose one to bring back to Ulfe.

You can interact with the sprout, a bag, and a sword in different ways, but the key is to choose the item that leads to the most positive reaction. The correct choice is the potted sprout because it belongs to Ulfe, and he’ll be happy when you return it to him.

Once you have all three items, head back to Tamala – follow the quest marker on your Zone Compass, it’s near three braziers. After talking to Subira, Tamala, and Ulfe to get your next instructions, you’ll need to light those braziers. Use a bow and arrows, and place an item representing Ulfe’s past, present, and future in front of each one before lighting it.

To complete the puzzle, light the braziers in the same order you collected the items: left, then right, and finally center.

Once the braziers are lit, a scene will play with voices carried on the wind. After watching it, go collect the final Flowflower. With all the Flowflowers gathered, talk to Subira, Tamala, and Ulfe again to finish the quest. You’ll earn 25 Renown and unlock the next quest, Even As a Dream.
