Beerus Was The Strongest At The Start Of Super
Arc: Beerus the Destroyer Arc
A highlight of Dragon Ball Super was how it broadened the scope of the entire series, starting with the introduction of Beerus, the Destroyer God of Universe 7. While Goku fought bravely against him using his new Super Saiyan God transformation, he wasn’t nearly strong enough to win. Luckily, Goku and the Z-Fighters managed to convince Beerus to spare them, and he became a valuable ally for the rest of the series.
Goku And Vegeta Both Unlocked Super Saiyan Blue
Arc: Resurrection F
Frieza’s return in Dragon Ball Super introduced his powerful Golden Form, making him one of the strongest characters in the series. However, because he hadn’t trained with this new form, Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan Blue states were ultimately more powerful. Many fans believe Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta was even stronger than Golden Frieza.
Goku Proved Himself As The Strongest Against Universe 6
Arc: vs. Universe 6 Arc
The battle against Universe 6 introduced incredibly strong new characters, most notably Hit. Hit proved to be a formidable opponent, easily defeating Vegeta and forcing Goku to push his limits. Goku ultimately overcame Hit by combining the Super Saiyan Blue transformation with the Kaioken technique, giving him the power needed to win.

Zeno Was The Only One Who Could Stop Zamasu
Arc: Goku Black Arc
The final form of Goku Black, known as Infinite Zamasu, is still considered by many fans to be the most dangerous enemy ever featured in Dragon Ball. This version of Zamasu spread uncontrollably throughout the universe, forcing Goku to ask Zeno to completely erase him. Because no one else could defeat Zamasu in this state, Zeno demonstrated his power as the ruler of everything by destroying an entire timeline.
Goku Unlocked The Technique Of The Angels
Arc: Tournament of Power Arc
The Tournament of Power was a huge battle where the strongest fighters from each universe competed for survival. Facing incredibly powerful opponents like Jiren, Goku achieved a new level of power by learning a technique used by the Angels. While he couldn’t maintain this ‘Ultra Instinct’ form throughout the entire tournament, it made him the strongest mortal being in all the universes.
Gogeta Proved To Be The Greatest Fusion Ever
Arc: Broly Arc
The recent Broly movie officially added the character to the Dragon Ball storyline and established him as incredibly powerful – so much so that even Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan Blue forms couldn’t damage him. Forced to the brink, they fused into Gogeta, who dominated Broly, preventing him from landing a single blow after Gogeta transformed. This showcased Gogeta as the strongest fusion the series has ever seen.
Goku’s Mastery With Ultra Instinct Put Him Above Moro
Arc: Moro Arc
The next season of Dragon Ball Super will adapt the popular Moro arc, and fans can expect some incredible displays of power. While many think Merus was the strongest character in the arc because of his superior control of Ultra Instinct, Goku ultimately demonstrated greater raw power, especially towards the end of their battle.
Frieza Has Become The Strongest Mortal Ever
Arc: Granolah Arc
I was really surprised to see Frieza back, and he’s definitely stronger than ever before. Apparently, he spent ten years training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and it allowed him to reach a new form – he calls it Black Frieza. It’s incredible; he actually defeated both Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta with a single blow! It really establishes him as the most powerful being in the universe, at least among mortals.
Gohan Is Finally Back At The Forefront
Arc: Super Hero Arc
Throughout the Dragon Ball series, Gohan’s incredible potential has always been a key part of his character. When he believed Piccolo was killed by Cell Max, his rage unlocked a new level of power, finally putting him on par with Goku and Vegeta in his Beast form. Now, Gohan and the other main characters are all roughly equal in strength, though many fans consider him the strongest of the group.
