Final Fantasy 14 Unveils One Last Event Before Patch 7.5

The Moogle Treasure Trove event is returning to Final Fantasy 14 in late March! For four weeks, players can earn a special currency to trade for rare rewards. The event will continue until the release of Patch 7.5, Trail to the Heavens, in late April.

With each big update to Final Fantasy 14, a special event called the Moogle Treasure Trove is held. This encourages players to revisit older dungeons, trials, and raids by offering rewards for completing challenges listed in a menu called the Mogpendium. Players earn special currency, Irregular Tomestones, which they can exchange with a Moogle vendor in one of three cities: Limsa Lominsa, Ul’dah, or Gridania. The rewards available – like unique outfits, mounts, and other cosmetic items – change with each event and are usually difficult to get any other way.

Final Fantasy 14’s Moogle Treasure Trove Returns Soon

Before the next big update for Final Fantasy 14, Square Enix announced a special event called Moogle Treasure Trove: The Hunt for Aphorism. It starts on March 31st at 4:00 AM Eastern and runs until the release of Patch 7.5, Trail to the Heavens, on April 28th. During this four-week event, players can complete challenges to earn Irregular Tomestones of Aphorism, a special currency used to buy rewards. Some of the most sought-after items include the Miner’s Earring (100 Tomestones) and mounts like the Emerald Gwiber (50 Tomestones). If you haven’t already gotten the Emerald Gwiber mount from the Castrum Marinum (Extreme) trial, this event is another chance to claim it. You’ll be able to spend these Tomestones until the 7.55 patch in late July, but you can only earn them by playing between March 31st and April 28th.

You can earn Irregular Tomestones each week by completing the Weekly Objective and the Minimog Challenge. The Weekly Objective changes for each player, but you’ll get the most Tomestones from the Ultimog Challenge, which is only available once during each Moogle Treasure Trove event. The last two events in late 2025 asked players to finish the Sil’dihn Subterrane and Mount Rokkon Variant Dungeons. If the pattern continues, the next event might require completing Aloalo Island, the third Variant Dungeon. However, Square Enix could choose a different objective for the Ultimog Challenge, so be sure to check the Mogpendium when the event starts.

April Is The Best Month To Return To Final Fantasy 14

So, when the Moogle Treasure Trove kicks off, it’s going to run alongside the Hatching-tide event already happening in Final Fantasy 14. Basically, it’s like their version of Easter, and right now Gridania is all decked out for it! If I finish the “Of Weeds and Whimsy” quest, I can snag the Party Eggy Eyeglasses. And there’s more! I can jump into the “Sprig Cleaning” dungeon, farm up some Special Brilliant Eggs, and trade those in for other cool Hatching-tide cosmetics. Sounds like a lot to do, but a good problem to have, right?

A new event called the Moogle Treasure Trove is coming to Final Fantasy 14 a month before the release of Patch 7.5, titled “Trail to the Heavens.” This 7.5 update will be the last major content addition for the Dawntrail expansion and will likely give players a preview of what to expect in the 8.0 expansion. Players can look forward to the final Vana’diel alliance raid, continuation of the main story, and improvements to housing and customization options. With these in-game events and the FanFest in Anaheim on April 24th and 25th, Final Fantasy 14 players have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks.
