After a lengthy run, the popular anime Fire Force is nearing its end, with the final episode expected within the next couple of installments in the Winter 2026 season. Fans have been anticipating the climactic battle against the White-Clad cult and the start of the Great Cataclysm. Now, everyone’s wondering how the story will conclude as Shinra and Sho Kusakabe confront Haumea in the strange world of Adolla to determine the ultimate fate of everything.
The Tokyo Empire, once the home of the Kusakabe brothers, is largely beyond saving, consumed by relentless flames. As one world ends, another is beginning, and the brothers are determined to influence how Earth transforms. The world of Fire Force needs to evolve towards the style of Soul Eater, as fans remember, and the Kusakabes’ actions regarding Haumea – or what they reveal to the surprisingly calm saintess – may be the key to making that happen.
Shinra and Sho Hold Fate in Their Hands
The major battles in Fire Force are largely finished, with the most powerful characters either winning or losing decisively. The final war moved quickly, and many of the long-awaited confrontations with doppelgangers ended swiftly thanks to characters like Tamaki Kotatsu and Shinmon Benimaru. However, these battles might feel unnecessary to viewers, as they seemed to simply extend the story while the true conflict within Adolla continues to develop. Ultimately, defeating the doppelgangers physically isn’t enough to save the world.
Everyone is focused on Shinra and Sho Kusakabe as they travel to Adolla to face Haumea. This Haumea is very different from the quirky, lively girl they previously encountered. She’s finally acting as the saintess she claims to be, replacing her unpredictable behavior with a disturbing calmness. This is the true Haumea – a devout believer intent on destroying the world to end all pain, a side Arthur Boyle and Akitaru Obi never witnessed. In Adolla, Haumea is determined to extinguish a world that has caused her immense suffering.
The battle against Haumea in Episode 24 is deeply personal for the Kusakabe brothers, and it’s unclear how things will end. Haumea’s power makes her nearly untouchable, forcing Shinra and Sho to fight a strangely defensive final boss. Unlike the powerful villains in popular anime like Naruto and Bleach, Haumea isn’t defeated through direct combat. Instead, she embodies an unavoidable change that the heroes must accept. Shinra’s typical heroic strategies won’t be enough, even with Sho by his side.
The Kusakabe brothers will likely need to appeal to Haumea’s emotions, helping her understand and accept both the good and bad parts of humanity. She’s currently set on destroying everything to eliminate negativity, but Shinra and Sho might be able to convince her to embrace the idea that good and bad go hand-in-hand, using personal stories as examples. Alternatively, they could try to persuade her to save a portion of Earth, enough space to accommodate the Soul Eater world, instead of destroying it all. Also, Arthur unexpectedly survived his battle with Dragon and could potentially return to help with the final plan.
