Simon de Montfort (sometimes spelled de Monport in the game) is one of nine dangerous criminals players can hunt in the Hernand region of Crimson Desert. You can attempt these bounties whenever you want, but Simon is located quite far away. It’s usually best to wait until you have a legendary horse before trying to capture him.
Players are free to start completing bounties whenever they like to earn silver and Contribution Points. Capturing Simon de Montfort doesn’t require any forced battles – the main challenge is usually a blocked path. But don’t worry, there’s still a way to claim Simon’s bounty early on, and we’ll explain how below.
How to Find and Capture Simon De Montfort in Crimson Desert
- Simon De Montfort’s (Monport) bounty poster can be obtained during exploration of the Hernand Village as one of the many purple poster icons you can find on the minimap, typically pinned to notice boards and wooden poles.
- Once his notice is obtained, players should learn the description for the optional quest to make it trackable from the Journal and on the Map.
- Simon De Montfort was last seen near Nectarwood Apiary, located pretty far away from Hernand City, southwest on the map, beyond the Witchwoods.
- His exact location is right near Lake Kharonso, in Everfrost Basin, as shown on the map image above.
- The journey to find and capture Simon De Montfort is the hardest part, as you’ll have to pass through several heavily guarded areas on the map, like Fort Perwin and Perwin Quarry. It’s possible to ride just past every enemy, though, so nothing to worry about.
- Another obstacle on the way to Simon is a blocked passage if following a single road to the destination. This obstacle can be broken via Focus: Force Palm, obtained in Chapter 4, which many players won’t have access to early on. Again, worry not; it’s possible to use a detour around the roadblock on horseback, sticking closely to the mountains on your left.
- Once reaching Lake Kharonso, Simon De Montfort won’t put up a fight, but may flee once he sees you.
- Follow him and tackle (X/A), then hit him several times before a prompt to tie him up will appear.
- After Simon De Montfort has been tied up properly, stow him on your horse, and prepare for the long journey back to Hernand. Unfortunately, you can’t use fast travel to deliver bounties instantly.
Similar to most bounties in Crimson Desert, Simon De Montfort is more valuable if captured than killed. Killing him will only get you half the reward – 4 Silver Coins instead of the full 8.
