Someone with a reliable history of leaking PlayStation information has revealed the main free game coming to PlayStation Plus in April. While Sony hasn’t officially announced the free games for April 2026 yet, the source says Lords of the Fallen, a role-playing game released in 2023, will be the featured free game on PlayStation 5 for subscribers to Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers.
PlayStation Plus members get a few free games every month that they can play as long as their subscription is active. The Essential plan includes online multiplayer, cloud storage, and those monthly games. The Extra plan gives access to a much bigger library of games, which changes each month like with Xbox Game Pass – you don’t keep these games permanently. The Premium plan includes everything from Essential and Extra, plus game trials and the ability to stream classic games online.

A reliable source, Billbil-kun, who has a proven track record of accurately predicting PlayStation Plus games, says that Lords of the Fallen will be the free headlining game for April 2026. This action RPG, released in 2023 by CI Games, features a large, connected world, epic boss fights, and engaging storytelling. The game has received mostly positive reviews from players on Steam and generally favorable reviews from critics. Billbil-kun states that PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to claim the game from April 7th to May 5th, and Sony is expected to officially announce this later this month.

If you enjoy challenging action RPGs similar to the Souls series, Lords of the Fallen is now available with PlayStation Plus just after a significant update. CI Games released a large 2.5 patch in December, marking the final major update for the game. This patch overhauled the combat system, making boss fights more intense, enemies quicker, and weapon animations smoother. It also added a new ‘Veteran’ mode for experienced players. Successfully completing Veteran mode unlocks the powerful Veil warplate armor, which increases the chance of finding better items.
CI Games is preparing to launch the sequel to Lords of the Fallen, and including the original game on PS Plus is a great way for players, both old and new, to practice before the new release. Lords of the Fallen 2 was revealed at Gamescom 2025 and is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2026. Taking place 100 years after the first game, CI Games promises the sequel will be even more intense, and it’s being built with the powerful Unreal Engine 5.
We still don’t know all the free games coming to PS Plus Essential in April 2026; reliable source Billbil-kun hasn’t shared that information yet, so an official announcement on March 31st is expected. However, we do know that two PS Plus Extra games – EA Sports PGA Tour and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage (both Tape 1 and 2) – will be removed from the service next month. It’s likely even more games will be leaving soon.
