Survivor’s Solitude is a powerful one-handed sword with solid damage and three slots for Abyss Gear. It’s a great weapon to find in Crimson Desert, particularly early in the game. You can find it in a cave hidden behind a waterfall west of the Scholastone Institute, and like much of what Crimson Desert offers, it’s accessible right from the beginning of your adventure.
Crimson Desert Survivor’s Solitude Location
Okay, so I finally found the waterfall cave! It’s called Death’s Grip Cave, and it’s not too far from the main Scholastone building – just a quick hike to the west. From the Abyss Nexus, you just follow the road until you hit the Confessional’s shack, then keep going through the woods. When you see the waterfall, look up – there’s a little pile of stones you need to find. Once you’re there, you have to hit the waterfall with a charged stab attack from any melee weapon to get through. And the sword? It’s in a chest surrounded by a bunch of other cool stuff!
Remember, you can use Force Palm to boost yourself upwards. Simply jump, then activate Force Palm to gain extra height – you can do this a maximum of three times if your Force Palm skill is fully upgraded. As another option, you can use Axiom Force to pull yourself towards a specific location, but this requires 200 Stamina and won’t be available until you have enough.
You can find some Bismuth outside the cave. It’s a valuable material for improving your gear, so be sure to collect it before you go!
Survivor’s Solitude Stats
| Attack | 17 |
|---|---|
| Critical Rate | 1 |
| Attack Speed | 1 |
| Refinement | 2 |
| Abyss Gears | Attack Speed 1 Critical Rate 1 Attack 1 |
This sword doesn’t stand out based on its stats alone, but it’s excellent because it already includes three Abyss Gears and has solid initial damage. We found one called Survivor’s Solitude in Death’s Grip Cave that was only at Refinement level 2, yet it still had 17 Attack! It’s one of the best early-game swords, and with enough upgrades, it will stay effective even later in the game compared to most other one-handed swords.
In Crimson Desert, the special slots for Abyss Gear often matter more than just a weapon’s base damage, except for weapons like the Soul Spear which already have high damage. Finding the right Abyss Gear combination can significantly improve a weapon, but it’s best to focus on this later in the game when you have a good collection of gear to experiment with.
In the early stages of Crimson Desert, Abyss Gears are usually found built into your weapons and armor. You can find a witch in any region who can remove these gears for you. They can also install new Abyss Gears, so be sure to use this service as you progress!
