In Crimson Desert, becoming powerful is key to defeating the toughest enemies. If you want to be strong enough to take them on, you’ll need great gear. The Fated Shadow sword is one particularly powerful item worth finding.
You can get the Fated Shadow sword by completing the Nest of Valor. This area unlocks after finishing the Main Quest “Unwavering Steps” in Chapter 9. We’ll cover everything you need to know about the sword, including what makes it so powerful and enjoyable to use.
How to Get the Fated Shadow Sword in Crimson Desert
- Fated Shadow can only be obtained after you defeat Goyen in the “Unwavering Steps” Main Quest in Chapter 9.
- You can find Fated Shadow in the Nest of Valor, an Abyss area in the Dry Valley, northeast in the Crimson Desert.
- You can fast travel back here after the “Unwavering Steps” mission by clicking R3 to enter the Abyss.
- Once you arrive at the Nest of Valor, head to the central podium and take a right. You’ll find a small shack with the Fated Shadow sword inside.
You’ll need to finish the Spire of the Sun to reach the Nest of Valor, and we have a guide to help you through it! This puzzle can be really tricky without some assistance.
What Makes Fated Shadow An OP Sword in Crimson Desert?
| Type | One-Handed Weapon |
|---|---|
| Attack | 25 |
| Critical Rate | Lv 0 |
| Attack Speed | Lv 1 |
| Refinement | 6 |
| Abyss Gears | Greysoul Howling (R1+R2) Attack 1 Attack Speed 1 |
Fated Shadow is a great weapon for a few reasons:
- It’s a One-Handed Sword, meaning it can take over your primary, or double the damage if you dual-wield.
- It already comes as a Level 6 Upgrade, meaning you won’t have to have invested 2 Abyss Artifacts already into it.
- It comes with the Greysoul Howling ability, which allows you to call forth the phantom of Goyen to unleash a sweeping strike of shadow energy, which basically means more damage in a Turning Slash attack.
If you enjoy the Greysoul Howling ability but prefer not to use Fated Shadow, you can get rid of the Abyss Gear by asking the Witches to remove it using the “Extract Abyss Gear” feature.
