Hades 2 Just Confirmed Its Xbox Game Pass Release Date

Supergiant Games announced that Hades 2 will be available on Xbox Series X/S starting April 14th, and will be added to the Xbox Game Pass library on the same day. As a day one Game Pass title, Hades 2 will also be an Xbox Play Anywhere game, letting players access their game and save progress on Xbox, PC, and through Cloud Gaming.

During the recent Xbox Partner Preview, it was announced that Hades 2 will be coming to Xbox Game Pass. The 30-minute broadcast showcased a variety of game news, from smaller indie projects to major releases. Highlights included a new expansion for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, a release date for Dispatch, story details for Stranger Than Heaven, and the debut of a co-op Serious Sam game – and that was just a small part of what was revealed.

Hades 2 Launches on Xbox Game Pass on April 14

Following the success of the popular game Hades, Supergiant Games has released Hades 2. This time, you play as Melinoe, sister to the original hero Zagreus, and Princess of the Underworld. Her mission? To track down Chronos, the Titan of Time, who has escaped from his prison and is causing chaos for both the Underworld and Mount Olympus. Like the first Hades, Hades 2 lets you gain powerful abilities, called Boons, from the Greek gods and titans to help you on each run.

In addition to the Boons, Hades 2 introduces a wide range of new weapons not found in the original game. Each weapon has its own unique attacks, and players can now use a new Magick system to enhance their strikes and perform special moves. The sequel also includes features like Selene’s Hexes and the Crossroads customization system, which are best discovered through gameplay. After being available in early access for over a year, Hades 2 officially launched on PC and Nintendo Switch (including the new Nintendo Switch 2) in September 2025. The game has also been nominated for over 35 industry awards, including six nominations for The Game Awards 2025 – even earning a spot in the Game of the Year category. So far, Hades 2 has already won 10 major awards, including Best Action Game at The Game Awards 2025, and it’s expected to win more at next month’s BAFTA Game Awards.

Hades 2 Is Also Coming to PS5 on April 14

Although it wasn’t featured in the Xbox Partner Preview, Hades 2 is also launching on PlayStation 5 on April 14th. Supergiant Games announced this on their social media channels, sharing the same trailer from the preview and confirming that the sequel will be available on both Xbox and PS5 on the same date.
