The game gained even more attention in 2022 when it was featured in an Annapurna Interactive showcase. At the Xbox Partner Preview on March 26th, Annapurna and Third Shift revealed Forever Ago, a new narrative-driven game coming to Xbox Game Pass. The game follows Alfred, an older man grappling with a painful loss that leads him to question his life. After a devastating event and the loss of a close friend, Alfred leaves everything behind for a solo road trip. As he travels through different landscapes, he reflects on his past and present, confronting difficult emotions like regret and grief. However, the story also explores themes of hope, courage, and the importance of friendship. Alfred’s journey north isn’t just about the scenery; it’s a search for meaning, healing, and a way to come to terms with his loss.

In the single-player adventure game, Forever Ago, players control Alfred as he journeys through beautiful and diverse landscapes – from serene forests and lakes to scorching deserts and majestic mountains.
