Pokemon Fan Designs Mega Evolutions for Magneton and Magnezone

A Pokémon enthusiast has designed their own ideas for how Magneton and Magnezone could Mega Evolve. These creative concepts are inspired by another popular fictional universe and have received praise from the Pokémon fanbase.

Mega Evolutions are a fun addition to the Pokemon series, temporarily boosting the power of existing Pokemon. Like Gigantamax Pokemon, they’ve become popular with fans thanks to their imaginative designs. Because not every Pokemon has a unique Mega Evolution or Gigantamax form, fans often create their own ideas, sometimes even designing alternate forms for Pokemon that already have one.

Pokemon Fan Creates Mega Evolutions for Magneton and Magnezone

A Pokémon fan named Wiinterfang recently shared their ideas on Reddit for how Magneton and Magnezone could Mega Evolve. Their design for Mega Magneton is fairly simple, building on the original three Magnemite design with added details like electrical grounding points and glowing yellow eyes. The artist explains these changes happen because the Mega Magneton redirects excess energy into the ground to protect its trainer. While typically only final-stage Pokémon can Mega Evolve, the artist believes it’s possible for others to do so – the game just hasn’t shown it yet.

Magnezone’s design was clearly inspired by Star Trek, transforming it from a simple, UFO-shaped Pokémon into a fully realized spaceship that looks a lot like the U.S.S. Enterprise. Unlike its pre-evolution, Magnezone can handle large amounts of energy, which it uses to generate shields allowing it to survive in space. The designers cleverly maintained Magnezone’s signature cylindrical shape as the ship’s main body, incorporating its three eyes into the hull and placing thrusters at the rear.

Fans of both Pokémon and Star Trek are loving a recent artistic creation: Mega Magnezone. People have been playfully calling it names like “The Magneprise”—a blend of Magnezone and the Star Trek Enterprise—or giving it a Star Trek serial number, “NCC-1701 M.” They’ve even been rewriting famous Star Trek quotes to include Magnezone, such as “to boldly go where no Magnezone has gone before.” Mega Magneton, while less popular, also has its supporters, and many are wondering what a shiny version of either Pokémon would look like.

Okay, let’s be real, a Star Trek and Pokemon team-up is probably never going to happen. But it’s really cool how much space is actually a part of the Pokemon world! A bunch of Pokemon are said to originally come from outer space – it started way back with Pokemon like Clefairy, and now we have super powerful ones like Eternatus and Iron Treads that are confirmed to be from space. They haven’t explained everything about where these space Pokemon came from, but it’s clear a lot of them didn’t start on Earth. Some even come from totally different dimensions, like the Distortion World! The new game, Pokemon Winds and Waves, doesn’t seem super focused on space right now, but I’m still hoping we’ll see some new Pokemon that either come from space or can travel there added to the Pokedex soon!
