Steel Ball Run Episode 1 Confirms The Winner Of The First Stage Of The Race

This post contains spoilers for Steel Ball Run.

The long-awaited anime adaptation of Steel Ball Run is finally arriving! Fans have been excitedly anticipating its release since the March 2025 announcement. As many consider Steel Ball Run to be the best part of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, expectations for the anime are incredibly high.

I just finished the first episode of Steel Ball Run, and I have to say, David Production has done it again! The animation is truly incredible, and the music is fantastic too. Honestly, every scene felt perfectly crafted – it’s clear how much care and skill went into this adaptation.

Gyro Zeppeli Won The First Stage Of Steel Ball Run

From the moment Gyro Zeppeli appeared, it was obvious he would be a central figure in Steel Ball Run. He traveled from Europe to compete in the cross-country American race. Once the race began, Gyro quickly took the lead, with Diego Brando close behind.

Gyro had pulled ahead of Diego, but Diego quickly found a way to catch up. He noticed a pattern in how Gyro’s horse, Valkyrie, moved and used this knowledge to close the distance. This forced Gyro to use the momentum of his Steel Balls to make Valkyrie go faster.

Gyro held the lead for most of the race, but Pocolo briefly passed him thanks to an incredible stroke of luck. Gyro didn’t give up, though, and pushed forward to regain the lead, ultimately winning the race. This victory earned him both valuable time and a bonus prize.

Things Will Only Get Harder For The Heroes

I’ve already seen how tough this race is going to be, and honestly, I think it’s only going to get harder. Luckily, Gyro and Johnny have really started to work together – they’re a team now, and they plan to stay that way for the rest of the competition. Even though Johnny’s in a wheelchair, his drive to win is incredible – you can’t deny that.

Even though it was difficult, Johnny never gave up. After a lot of effort, he finally got his horse under control and was ready to race. He wanted to prove his resolve to Gyro, and he did.

Steel Ball Run’s Next Episode Has Not Been Announced

Fans Are Feeling Uneasy Because Of The Lack Of Clarity

I thought the first episode of Steel Ball Run was a solid length at 47 minutes. But honestly, the lack of any news about when the second episode will come out is starting to worry fans, including me. Everyone was hoping for an update right after the first one aired, but the official channels have been completely silent so far.

A Netflix Chile representative hinted the anime might release weekly, but that’s not confirmed. Plus, someone involved with Steel Ball Run has stated that the anime isn’t completed yet.

  • So, there is a good chance that the next episode won’t be released for at least another few months.

Releasing only the first episode while production isn’t finished doesn’t really make sense for David Production. It would have been better to wait and release at least 10 or 12 episodes at once. This long delay could cause fans to lose interest, so hopefully the staff will soon share some updates about the future of the Steel Ball Run anime.
