Nightly Terrors Friendship Walkthrough in Palia

Ulfe, our beloved companion, has gone through a lot, but now that the Zendruu Tree is healed, he can finally live a happy life as a young Umbraan.

I’ve noticed something’s bothering him again, and I’m excited to learn how to help! There’s a quest called “Nightly Terrors Friendship” in Palia that teaches you how to cheer him up with things from home. I can’t wait to try it!

How to Complete The Nightly Terrors Friendship Quest in Palia

Now that you’ve finished the Sleepless in the Elderwood Friendship quest (you can find a guide here), you can go back to your house and enjoy things like gardening or raising animals.

Your peaceful moment will be interrupted by Subira, who will visit your home to check on Ulfe. Because of this, you decide to go to the Elderwood to see how he’s really doing.

Ulfe is plagued by disturbing dreams about his parents, who have no faces. However, he believes the solution isn’t a magical potion, but something much simpler: his mother’s special recipe, a dish she used to make for him often.

After speaking to him, you’ll need to dig five dirt piles found throughout the house:

  • You can find the first dirt pile right behind Ulfe:
  • There are two dirt piles upstairs (in the bedroom and in the bathroom)
  • The last two dirt piles downstairs (in the lounge and in the kitchen) that you can find to dig up.
  • Using a gardening hoe, you can interact with the dirt piles where you can dig up the following items added to the Inventory’s Quest tab: a letter, a banner, an Umbraan Document, a journal, and a satchel of jewels.

Take the items you found back to Ulfe. He’ll identify one as the Umbraan recipe, but he won’t be able to read it. Next, bring the recipe to Tamala so she can translate it. Once translated, you’ll need to gather the ingredients to make the Umbraan recipe – it turns out it’s for S’mores!

Before you start cooking, head back to the Housing Plot to find the recipe. Then, gather the ingredients – Kopaa Nuts, Sugar, and Wheat – and return home to make the dish.

Return to the Elderwood with the finished S’mores and find Ulfe. Give him the S’mores, and he’ll thank you with a hug.

You’ve completed the quest! You’ll earn 20 Renown, improve your friendship with Ulfe (gaining more Friendship XP), and receive two high-quality Elderflowers. You can keep building your friendship with Ulfe until the next friendship quest becomes available around Friendship Level 3.
