A recent video by Nate the Hate claims Nintendo is planning a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and a new Star Fox game for the Switch 2 this year. Nintendo hasn’t revealed much about its 2026 plans for the console, and currently, the only confirmed first-party game with a release date is Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, which is launching in late May.
With Yoshi and the Mysterious Book releasing on May 21st, Nintendo fans are wondering what big game will come next. Nintendo usually holds a major Nintendo Direct presentation in June, and it’s likely they’ll reveal their plans for the rest of 2026 during that event. These June Directs, traditionally held around the time of the now-canceled E3, are typically Nintendo’s biggest and most anticipated showcases, and some details about what might be announced have reportedly appeared online.
Huge New Nintendo Switch 2 Games Leaked
- 3D Super Mario Game – 2027
- Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave – Summer 2026
- New Nintendo Switch Sports Game – Summer 2026
- Pikmin 4: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition – Possible Summer 2026
- Rhythm Heaven Groove – Summer 2026
- Splatoon Raiders – Summer 2026
- Star Fox – Summer 2026
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake – Holiday 2026
Okay, so Nate the Hate is reporting a TON of stuff about what Nintendo’s got planned, and if he’s right, this summer is going to be insane for Switch fans! Now, I always take leaks with a grain of salt, but apparently we might be getting Splatoon Raiders, a new Fire Emblem called Fortune’s Weave, and a brand-new Star Fox game all hitting this summer. There’s also talk of a new Nintendo Switch Sports game, though it could just be an upgraded version for the Switch 2. And get this – Rhythm Heaven Groove is supposedly coming in Summer 2026, but it’s still being developed for the current Switch. Finally, there’s a chance Pikmin 4 could get a Switch 2 version this summer, though it might end up being released later in the year.

Nintendo usually releases one major game each month. Based on this pattern, we can expect Splatoon Raiders, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, and Star Fox to launch between June and September, with other smaller summer games coming out in between those bigger titles.
According to Nate the Hate, Nintendo’s major Switch 2 game this holiday season will be a complete remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. While Nintendo previously remade Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 3DS, reports suggest this new version is a full rebuild, not just an updated version of the 3DS game.
Good news for Zelda fans: rumors suggest a remake of Ocarina of Time is in the works! However, Mario fans might be a little let down – it looks like a new Super Mario game will be released this holiday season instead of the long-awaited 3D Super Mario game for the Switch 2. If the leaks are true, we won’t see that 3D Mario title until 2027.
Don’t take these rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2 for granted just yet. We’ll know if they’re true if Nintendo holds a presentation in June, as many expect. However, the leaks seem plausible. With Ocarina of Time being one of the most beloved games of all time and the Legend of Zelda franchise turning 40 in 2026, a Switch 2 remake would make a lot of sense. While some are skeptical about a Star Fox return after years of Nintendo largely ignoring the series, the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie will feature Fox McCloud. This should renew interest in Star Fox, giving Nintendo a perfect opportunity to release a new game alongside it. If these leaks are accurate, the Switch 2 is shaping up to have an incredible summer lineup.
