Grieving Ghost Of The Goblet Bounty Guide In Metaphor: ReFantazio

As a seasoned adventurer with countless hours spent traversing the fantastical realms of Metaphor: ReFantazio under my belt, I can confidently say that the Ghost Of The Goblet bounty, specifically the Fatolich encounter, is no walk in the park. Despite its seemingly low difficulty ranking, this boss battle requires a well-prepared party and a strategic approach to emerge victorious.

In the imaginative realm of Refantazio, a new bounty awaits players upon reaching Port Brilehaven – The Phantom of the Chalice. Despite its seemingly modest diamond rating of four, this adversary may prove to be trickier than anticipated.

The Fatolich is hidden within the Tomb of Lament, a mere two-day journey from Port Brilehaven. It would be wise to undertake the quest for the Chalice of Legends first, as these tasks can be accomplished simultaneously since they are interconnected.

How To Prepare For Fatolich In Metaphor: ReFantazio

Recommended level 35.

  • Bring at least two Healer lineage Archetypes on anyone with a high magic stat.
  • Bring at least two Brawler lineage Archetypes, ideally the Pugilist.
  • Have at least one party member with Matarukaja, ideally through Skill Inheritance on the Healer, from the General Archetype.

For this boss battle, it’s crucial to focus on using buffs and debuffs, particularly during the initial round. Ensure that any characters utilizing the Pugilist Archetype have the Power Thrust skill, as it reduces the enemy’s defense. If a party member possesses Charge, make sure it is assigned to a Pugilist. Additionally, prepare the Almighty Stew or Amber Stew recipes to apply extra damage-enhancing buffs to your team.

  • Dark

The strategy for this battle is to maximize your advantage in the second turn by properly positioning yourself during the first turn. In the initial round, deploy whatever light spells you have at hand to amass Press Turn icons. However, opt for Power Thrust from the Pugilists to weaken the Fatolich’s defense. Additionally, plan to cast Matarukaja on your Healer during their second turn rotation, and utilize any damage-enhancing recipes to ensure that the boss’s defense is minimized and your attack power is maximized by the end of the second turn.

During the initial round, any harm inflicted on the Fatolich is largely insignificant because it will immediately summon a Chimenza on its first turn, which uses Deiamahan to restore 1,500 HP to the Fatolich. Regardless of your actions, this event will occur, so focus more on enhancing the Fatolich rather than aiming for turn-one damage. Once the Chimenza has been summoned and the Fatolich is healed, prioritize dealing as much damage in your second turn as you can.

In this scenario, both fighters (Pugilists) can unleash powerful Crushing Fists, while healers have access to gentle spells. By combining their abilities, they can utilize the Synthesis skill Super Energy Ray, which inflicts immense damage on Fatolich. With every attack landing, your team gets two consecutive rounds of attacks against Fatolich’s weakened defense, thanks to the boosted attacks and debuffed defense. However, remember to preserve one Press Turn icon for the Healer to heal the entire party before the turn passes to the enemy.

In a single or at most two rounds, given your character’s level and attributes, the Fatolich should be vanquished, leaving behind only the Chimenza. The Chimenza, being just level 28, is relatively feeble. Moreover, it has a weakness to wind-based attacks if you possess any. If your attack power remains enhanced, this foe can likely be subdued with one or two rounds of assaults from your team.

Regarding defense, these two foes likely won’t pose significant threat, but if they do, your primary concern would be a collective dark attack from Fatolich and isolated electric abilities from Chimenza. It’s wise to carry an antidote for paralysis; otherwise, this battle should go smoothly.
