How to Head to the Abyss in Crimson Desert’s “A Shadow in the Void”

The final main quest in Crimson Desert, “A Shadow in the Void,” can be a bit confusing. It tells you to go to “the Abyss” without explaining what that is or where it’s located. Don’t worry, though – we’ve got the directions you need!

If you want to go to the Abyss to find Caliburn, you need to get to the Dimensional Bonds. You can reach this area by solving four Abyss Puzzles one after another, and we’ve provided the quickest order to do them in below.

How to Head to the Abyss and Pursue Caliburn in Crimson Desert

  • To pursue Caliburn into the Abyss, you must reach the center of the Abyss, known as the Dimensional Bonds.
  • To reach the Dimensional Bonds, you must first complete an Abyss circuit, which is usually 4 to 5 Abyss puzzles in a row from one of the Spires.
  • This can be done at any Spire, but we decided to use the Spire of Frost, which will go something like this:
    • Spire of Frost
    • Passage of Malice
    • Tomb of Perdition
    • Desert Fragment
    • Cradle of Truth

We’ve included links to guides for each puzzle to help you reach Caliburn quickly.

  1. After the Cradle of Truth, you can continue on the path, which will spawn an Abyss Gate, which will take you into the Dimensional Bonds.
  2. Now, head up the stairs to the south to find an Abyss panel that can be activated with Force Palm.
  3. You will now need to climb over this panel and use the wings to fly up to the center.
  4. At the main doors of the central building, an Abyss Gate will spawn and allow you to enter inside to fight Caliburn.

Caliburn is a challenging boss with three stages, and defeating him immediately starts another three-stage boss fight. Make sure you have plenty of healing items and Palmar Pills before you begin, as you’ll need them for the final showdown. If you struggle with the second boss, you can return to this area later without re-fighting Caliburn, provided you’ve already defeated him once.
