Saint Nerona Imu, also called the Sovereign of the World, is an incredibly powerful figure in the One Piece universe, and is believed to have lived during the mysterious Void Century. As the ruler of the Celestial Dragons, Imu possesses immense power, often compared to a demon god. This includes superhuman strength, immortality, and the ability to heal quickly, as well as potent magical abilities. Imu is so strong that many of the most powerful characters in One Piece have been defeated by them. However, the creator, Oda, has hinted that there are abilities within the One Piece world that can directly oppose Imu’s power, and has already shown a few of them.
Gura Gura no Mi

The Gura Gura no Mi is comparable to Imu’s Devil Fruit in terms of destructive power. As the most powerful Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, it’s potentially as devastating as an Ancient Weapon, capable of wiping out entire islands or even the world. Its immense power requires careful control, as unleashing its full potential could literally cause the world to sink.
This Devil Fruit ability is incredibly powerful offensively, surpassing almost all others. However, Imu’s fruit offers more than just raw attack power, giving it an overall advantage over the Gura Gura no Mi. Despite this, the Gura Gura no Mi can effectively counter any direct attack Imu uses.
Soru Soru no Mi

The Soru Soru no Mi is a fascinating Devil Fruit that gives its user control over souls. Charlotte Linlin, better known as Big Mom, ate this fruit. Interestingly, the Soru Soru no Mi’s powers seem to directly oppose those of Imu.
Imu frequently uses Contracts to control others. These contracts, like the Domi Reversi, involve taking years off someone’s life in exchange for abilities like regeneration, super strength, and immortality. Imu’s other agreements work on a similar principle. However, the user of the Soru Soru no Mi has complete control over life spans and souls. Because of this, anyone who can manipulate souls should theoretically be able to negate Imu’s powers, making the Soru Soru no Mi a direct weakness to whatever ability Imu’s Devil Fruit grants.

I’ve heard the Mero Mero no Mi is one of the most powerful and dangerous Devil Fruits out there in the world of One Piece. Right now, Boa Hancock has it, and it’s incredible – she can basically charm anyone she wants. The way it works is by turning opponents to stone with her allure. It’s not just people either; she can even petrify objects just by touching them, which makes it a truly deadly ability – it doesn’t seem to miss its mark on anyone.
Hancock’s abilities are incredibly strong – even a powerful pirate like Blackbeard had to use a sneaky tactic to avoid being turned to stone. Given that Imu actively seeks out women with similar qualities to those Hancock possesses, they wouldn’t be able to withstand her power either. The Mero Mero no Mi Devil Fruit is uniquely suited to potentially defeat Imu, making a future clash between them a fascinating possibility.

Ope Ope no Mi

The Ope Ope no Mi is considered the most powerful Devil Fruit for several reasons, primarily because it allows the user to perform the Perennial Youth Surgery, which can grant immortality at the cost of their own life. Beyond that, it also has a lesser-known but significant ability: the power to swap bodies with others.
Doflamingo desperately wanted the power of the Ope Ope no Mi because he aimed to become the ruler of the world and overthrow Imu. He likely believed this Devil Fruit would allow him to switch bodies with Imu, permanently taking control. However, his brother, Rosinante, sabotaged his plan by giving the fruit to Law instead. Ultimately, the author, Oda, has confirmed that the Ope Ope no Mi’s abilities are powerful enough to challenge Imu and potentially claim the title of King of the World, making it a key threat to the current power structure.
Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika

In the world of One Piece, the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika is essentially the opposite of Imu’s abilities. Currently, Monkey D. Luffy possesses this Devil Fruit, which has transformed him into the Warrior of Liberation, also known as the Sun God Nika. Luffy spreads joy and freedom wherever he goes, permanently liberating people from hardship and earning their loyalty.
Imu governs through fear and shadows, but Nika represents hope and liberation. These two forces are natural enemies, destined to collide in the epic conclusion of One Piece, and Luffy’s abilities are a clear match for Imu’s power.
Yami Yami no Mi

The Yami Yami no Mi is considered the most powerful Devil Fruit in the world of One Piece because it controls the ability of all other Devil Fruits. Although it’s a Logia type, it doesn’t make the user intangible in the traditional sense. Instead, it absorbs everything around it – including light and, crucially, the properties that would make things intangible.
The Yami Yami no Mi doesn’t just steal things – it can nullify Devil Fruit powers entirely. When Blackbeard touches someone with a Devil Fruit ability, it simply stops working. This extends to even the most powerful abilities, like the one Imu possesses, making them ineffective against him. Essentially, this fruit is a direct weakness to any Devil Fruit power in the One Piece world.
