In June 2026, Xbox Game Pass will add a new cooperative game called Frog Squad. This indie game is designed to stand out with its fun, physics-based gameplay, silly humor, and the ability to play with up to eight friends.
Frog Squad is the first game from Panic Stations, a UK-based studio launched in late 2025. The studio was founded by developers who previously worked on the popular 2020 battle royale game, Fall Guys. Panic Stations is part of Skeleton Crew, a group of developers that focuses on making smaller, innovative games.
Frog Sqwad Revealed as Day-One Xbox Game Pass Title
Panic Stations recently unveiled Frog Squad during the Xbox Partner Preview on March 26th. The announcement came with a gameplay trailer showing a cooperative multiplayer game where up to eight players team up to explore large sewers, collect food for a “Swamp King,” and overcome various physics-based puzzles. Players interact with the vibrant game world using a frog tongue to grab and move objects, but things get tricky because many objects are booby-trapped or rigged to explode, posing a challenge to the frog team.

The new game lets you trade food found during each playthrough for gold. You can use this gold to buy helpful items and upgrades that improve your chances on future runs. As you play, your frog character can eat food to grow bigger, eventually becoming a powerful “Megafrog” that can handle tougher obstacles. Plus, Frog Squad will include voice chat so you can communicate with nearby players and randomly generated levels, ensuring every trip through the sewers feels fresh and different.
The game Frog Squad is planned to release in June 2026, but a specific date hasn’t been announced yet. Like many games shown at the recent Xbox Partner Preview event, Frog Squad will be available on Xbox Game Pass starting on day one. It’s expected to be part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass libraries, like most new games added to Microsoft’s service.
Several games are confirmed to be launching on Xbox Game Pass in 2026, including Frog Squad. While many, like Armatus, Darkwood 2, and Tropico 7, don’t have specific release dates yet, the highly anticipated RPG Fable is nearing completion at Playground Games. Coming sooner, Beastro, Freestyle Football 2, and Denshattack are expected to receive release date announcements soon, as they were originally planned for spring 2026.
