After a three-month break, the One Piece anime is returning, and fans are incredibly excited! The anticipation is especially high because the anime will finally begin adapting the highly-regarded Elbaf Arc. This arc is considered one of the best in the series, and with a revamped production schedule promising a faster pace, more consistent quality, and improved animation, things are looking very promising for One Piece viewers.
The new season of One Piece isn’t out yet, so fans are looking for other shows to watch in the meantime. These series are a great way to pass the time while you wait for its return.
Gurren Lagann
Studio Trigger consistently delivers anime with amazing visuals and captivating stories. Their series Gurren Lagann is considered a standout title, and it’s easy to see why.
This mecha series is packed with exciting action, and it has a consistently hopeful tone that fans of One Piece will really enjoy. With just 27 episodes and a good pace, it’s easy to watch all the way through – making it a great choice to binge while you’re waiting for new One Piece episodes.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is considered a standout anime from the 2000s, and it’s easy to understand why. It’s a more accurate retelling of the original manga by Hiromu Arakawa compared to the earlier anime series, and remains a timeless classic that can still compete with today’s biggest anime hits.
Driven by the powerful relationship between brothers Ed and Al, Brotherhood features a richly imagined world and compelling characters as they journey to restore their bodies and make amends for past errors. The animation remains impressive, making this series enjoyable for both newcomers and longtime fans alike.
Mob Psycho 100
Created by the same person behind One-Punch Man, Mob Psycho 100 doesn’t always get the attention it deserves. While both shows have similar vibes, Mob Psycho 100 is unique and actually surpasses One-Punch Man in some ways.
Mob Psycho 100 is often hilarious, but it’s also a surprisingly powerful story with a fantastic main character. You’ll quickly become invested in Mob and enjoy watching him come into his own. While the animation is great, it’s Mob’s personal journey that really makes the show special – and the best part is, you can experience the whole thing in under 40 episodes.
Jujutsu Kaisen
Now that season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen has finished, it’s a great time to start watching if you haven’t already! You’ll be able to catch up on the anime and be ready to discuss the next season when it comes out this spring, as it’s expected to be very popular.
Many fans are captivated by Jujutsu Kaisen‘s incredible animation. The series is visually stunning, and the distinct, smooth style of animation by MAPPA is a major reason why it’s considered one of the best anime adaptations of recent years. Combined with a well-designed power system and a story full of surprising and powerful moments, JJK is a great choice to watch while waiting for new episodes of One Piece.
Magi: The Labyrinth
While it might not be as widely known as some of the biggest names in shonen anime and manga, Magi: The Labyrinth is a truly excellent series and deserves more recognition as one of the best in the genre.

I was really impressed with the core group in Magi – Aladdin, Morgiana, and Alibaba. Each of them had their chance to grow and really stood out. If you’re an anime fan who enjoys magic, and you’re looking for something a little different – a setting we don’t often see – I’d definitely recommend giving Magi a try.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End
The anime Frieren quickly became a fan favorite when it premiered in 2023, and its second season continues to prove why it’s considered one of the best anime series available. Still boasting a high score of 9.25 on MyAnimeList, Frieren has captivated both longtime anime viewers and newcomers.
This anime is visually stunning, with dynamic action and vibrant animation. Beyond its beautiful presentation, it features compelling characters and a well-developed story. It’s a heartwarming series that knows how to be both funny and deeply moving.
One-Punch Man
One-Punch Man is a hilarious anime with surprisingly great fight scenes. The main character, Saitama, is a standout hero – incredibly powerful, and always defeats enemies with ease, often in a very understated way. He’s a perfect contrast to the seemingly tough villains who quickly fall to his strength.
While season 3 of the anime received a lot of criticism and sparked some online debate, the series as a whole is still enjoyable. If you’re after a humorous anime with varying levels of action, One-Punch Man is a good option – just be aware that the quality dips after the first season.
