There’s been growing excitement for FromSoftware’s new online game, The Duskbloods, but it might be delayed. While there’s still a possibility it will launch in 2026 as originally announced, that window is looking less likely.
A reliable source, Nate the Hate on YouTube, reports that The Duskbloods isn’t expected to release until late 2026. This means fans might have a long wait for a new game from FromSoftware, especially since Elden Ring Nightreign isn’t receiving much new content right now, which could be both frustrating and intriguing.
Duskbloods Is Reportedly Coming In Late 2026
I’m honestly a little worried about The Duskbloods. We haven’t even seen real gameplay yet, and people seem way more hesitant about it than they were with the announcement of FromSoftware’s last game. It’s not that the PvPvE idea is necessarily a bad one, but Elden Ring Nightreign didn’t click with everyone. Since The Duskbloods is another game focused on multiplayer, it just feels like it won’t have the same broad appeal as Elden Ring or the classic single-player Souls games we all love.
We’re three months into 2026 and still haven’t received any news about the release of The Duskbloods, other than it being planned for sometime this year. While it’s possible we’ll see an announcement with a summer release date at June’s Summer Game Fest 2026, the current lack of official information makes a late-2026 launch seem increasingly likely.
It’s Still A Switch 2 Exclusive
Most games eventually appear on multiple consoles, but it seems The Duskbloods is designed to be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2. Releasing it on other platforms would be counterproductive if the goal is to boost Switch 2 sales by capitalizing on the success of games like those made by FromSoftware. However, it’s too early to say if The Duskbloods will become as iconic for the Switch 2 as Bloodborne was for the PlayStation 4.
Even if The Duskbloods is released later this year or pushed back to 2027, it would simply mean Nintendo Switch 2 players will have to wait a bit longer – which could actually build more excitement. And the longer Switch 2 gamers wait, the longer PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players will have to wait too, assuming the game is ever released on those platforms.
