While the first two movies offered more of what viewers already knew—Deku using One For All to defeat villains like Wolfram and Nine—World Heroes Mission stands out with its unique storyline and the introduction of Flect Turn.
Flect Turn’s motivations, though extreme, stem from a deep personal struggle combined with his belief that Quirks ultimately harm humanity – a belief he’s willing to enforce even if it means massive loss of life. While his actions aren’t excusable, many My Hero Academia fans understand how a world filled with Quirks could create someone like him. It’s a welcome change of pace to have something lighthearted and funny, where you can simply root for the characters. The Konosuba anime is already a clever parody of the isekai genre, often surpassing the typical stories in terms of creativity and fun, and this movie takes that to the extreme. While Chainsaw Man is a different kind of anime altogether, Konosuba: Legend of Crimson delivers a rare sense of simple joy and wonder that’s hard to beat in the theater.
