You might have seen the massive Queen Stoneback Crab in trailers for Crimson Desert. Kliff will face this mountain-like creature as part of a side quest. If you’ve been sticking to the main story, you may not have encountered it yet. This guide will show you where to find and how to defeat the Queen Stoneback Crab in Crimson Desert.
Where to Find the Queen Stoneback Crab in Crimson Desert (The Queen’s Lake Quest)
To find the Queen Stoneback Crab, players need to begin the side quest “The Queen’s Lake” in the Crimson Desert. You’ll start this quest with Diederik, a Greymane NPC who’s located east of Demeniss City, close to the Bardtree Gorge in Delesyia.
So, Diederik’s gonna be pretty shocked when Kliff starts laying out the whole quest we need to do before we can even link up with the rest of the Greymanes at Howling Hill. It’s like, we gotta finish this side thing first before we can join the main group, and Kliff’s the one explaining it all.
You’ll find Diederik after you unlock the Greymanes Howling Hill camp in Chapter 3. The good news is, you don’t need to play much further into the game before you can take on the Queen Stoneback Crab!
To begin the quest, head to the valley nearby, which is rich in mineral deposits. Look for a peculiar rock formation in the center of the field – the quest marker will guide you. When you get close, you’ll trigger a boss battle against the Queen Stoneback Crab in the Crimson Desert.
How to Beat the Queen Stoneback Crab in Crimson Desert
The Queen Stoneback Crab can be a tough boss if your equipment isn’t good enough. To succeed, you’ll need at least tier five gear, and it’s important to have a good amount of Stamina from Abyss Artifacts. This is because you’ll spend a lot of time holding on to the boss, which quickly drains your stamina.
The boss fight is fairly straightforward: you need to attack the mineral growths on the Queen Stoneback Crab. Keep destroying these minerals, and eventually, a green weak spot will appear – that’s what you want to focus on.
Okay, so to damage the Queen Stoneback Crab in Crimson Desert, you’ve got a couple of options. You can either crouch and do a downward stab, or just stick to her and stab like normal. Once you hit her weak spot, just hit the stab button again to pull your dagger out – that’s what drains her blue health bar! It took me a while to figure out, but once I did, it made the fight so much easier.
Keep repeating the steps described earlier about two or three times. You’ll know you’ve done enough when the boss’s blue health bar is gone and you see the red one appear.
To defeat the Queen Stoneback Crab in Crimson Desert, focus your attacks on the cluster of clay pots on its back. The number of hits it takes to destroy them – and beat the boss – will vary depending on your strength. Also, once you finish the “The Queen’s Lake” side quest, Diederik will become a vendor selling armor at the Greymanes camp in Howling Hill, but only if you’ve upgraded the camp sufficiently.
Defeating the Queen Stoneback Crab in the Crimson Desert will reward players with an Abyss Artifact, two Diamonds, three Garnets, and five Azurites.
