Pokemon GO Reveals GO Pass Rewards and Featured Pokemon for April 2026

Pokémon GO has announced a new monthly pass called the GO Pass, along with details about the rewards players will receive in April. This year marks the game’s 10th anniversary, so fans can look forward to celebrations throughout the year. Since its release in 2016, Pokémon GO has become a key part of the Pokémon world, constantly updating its gameplay and connecting with the core games like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

As a long-time Pokémon GO player, I remember when Niantic launched the GO Pass in April 2025. It came after the really popular Tour Pass, and it’s basically a monthly challenge where you earn points and get rewards just for playing! The cool thing is, everyone can join the basic GO Pass for free. But if you want even more stuff, there’s a deluxe version you can pay for each month with extra goodies to unlock.

Starting April 7th at 10 a.m. local time and running through May 5th, Pokémon GO players can earn rewards like Stardust, XP, and other bonuses with the April GO Pass. A special reward this month is the chance to encounter the Legendary Pokémon Entei – and it might even be Shiny! However, you’ll need to reach level 100 to unlock this encounter. While Entei has been available in Pokémon GO before, this is a great opportunity for players who haven’t yet added it to their collection.

The new GO Pass rewards players with bonuses as they level up. Reaching rank 25 lets players open up to 40 Gifts daily, carry 10 extra Gifts, and receive up to 125 Gifts by spinning PokeStops and Gyms. Rank 50 increases the length of time Daily Adventure Incense lasts, and rank 75 provides more Stardust and XP when hatching Eggs. Players with the deluxe GO Pass get even more at rank 25 – they can open 50 Gifts daily, hold 20 extra Gifts, and receive up to 150 Gifts from Gyms and PokeStops.

Players can upgrade to the deluxe GO Pass for $7.99 and get extra benefits like a Lucky Trinket and a Super Incubator, plus more chances to find Pokémon. The Lucky Trinket, which was released last summer, instantly makes any friend a Lucky Friend, but the one you get with the GO Pass will expire on May 12th. If you buy the deluxe pass, you’ll receive all the rewards from both the standard and deluxe levels. There are also more expensive deluxe options available that come with some ranks already completed.

Pokemon GO players waiting for the next GO Pass don’t have to wait long! The new “GO Pass: A Shockingly Good Time” is now available. This special pass highlights Electric-type Pokemon and celebrates the arrival of Mimikyu to the game. If you buy the deluxe version of the pass, you’ll get a unique Mimikyu-themed hat for your avatar, inspired by its disguise. Mimikyu has been hinted at for years – there was even a Pikachu dressed as Mimikyu back in 2021, and Mimikyu-themed avatar items were released before the Pokemon itself was available to catch!
