As a seasoned blockchain analyst with over two decades of experience, I must admit that the Cardano (ADA) blockchain’s 2,600 days of uninterrupted operations is nothing short of remarkable. In my time following the evolution of this industry, I’ve seen many promising projects falter due to network issues and downtime. But Cardano has consistently proven its resilience in the face of adversity.
The Cardano (ADA) blockchain has hit a notable milestone by operating continuously for more than 2,600 days without any interruptions. This impressive feat positions Cardano as a leader in blockchain stability, distinguishing it from others in the field.

On platform X (previously known as Twitter), the Cardano Foundation recently acknowledged an achievement, expressing, “The Cardano blockchain has been functioning smoothly for more than 2,600 consecutive days without a single interruption, demonstrating its robustness and reliability.
This remark underscores the Cardano network’s capacity to maintain continuous operation, which is essential for any blockchain seeking to accommodate diverse applications and offerings.
In the world of blockchain, temporary downtimes and network interruptions are quite common. However, what stands out about Cardano is its remarkable record of 2,600 days without any downtime, a feat that’s worth noting given other platforms have encountered outages due to congestion issues, software bugs, or external attacks.
The Cardano Foundation’s recent achievement is being celebrated by the ADA community, evident from the responses to their tweet.
Chang 2 hard fork updates
Lately, the Intersect Hard Fork Working Group has suggested referring to the upcoming Cardano hard fork as the “Plomin Hard Fork,” a name that pays tribute to Cardano community member Matthew Plomin for his contributions.
As per Intersect, the “Second Chang Hard Fork” (Chang 2) has been renamed as the Plomin Hard Fork in recognition of Matthew Plomin, a significant contributor within the Cardano community. This name change symbolizes the organic development of Cardano’s governance structure. A governance action related to this renaming is now active on the Cardano mainnet for approval by the on-chain community.
The proposed changes for the Chang 2 hard fork have been officially approved by the ICC and SPOs within the network. After a period of one epoch in pre-production, these changes will be activated on the chain. This activation is scheduled for November 22 at midnight UTC.
After this intra-era hard fork, the pre-production stage will utilize node version 10 and function under complete CIP-1694 governance. Pre-production is our most advanced testing network, mirroring a production (mainnet) environment closely. Following the pre-production phase, we’ll proceed to the mainnet.
