Breaking: MicroStrategy Buys Another 55,500 BTC For $5.4 Billion

As a seasoned analyst with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that MicroStrategy’s latest Bitcoin acquisition is nothing short of impressive. I’ve seen many companies dabble in cryptocurrencies, but none have committed to the extent that MicroStrategy has. Their bold strategy has not only put them at the forefront of public companies holding Bitcoin but also made them a significant player in the broader crypto market.

Once more, MicroStrategy boosted its Bitcoin reserves. Recently, the firm disclosed they acquired 55,500 Bitcoins at a cost of $5.4 billion, which now totals their holdings to approximately 386,700 Bitcoins.

MicroStrategy Acquires 55,500 BTC

In a recent press announcement, MicroStrategy disclosed that it purchased an additional 55,500 Bitcoins from November 18th to the 24th, with an average cost of $97,862 per Bitcoin. This purchase has boosted their quarter-to-date (QTD) BTC return to 35.2% and an impressive year-to-date (YTD) gain of 59.3%.

Currently, MicroStrategy owns approximately 386,700 Bitcoins. They purchased these Bitcoins at a total cost of around $21.9 billion, which equates to an average price of about $56,761 per Bitcoin. Notably, MicroStrategy continues to be the public company with the largest Bitcoin portfolio.

It’s worth noting that MARA Holdings, a public company with the second-largest bitcoin holdings, recently revealed it bought 5,771 Bitcoins at an average price of $95,554 per Bitcoin last week. Nevertheless, it lags significantly behind MicroStrategy in terms of total Bitcoin possession, as the software firm owns a staggering 386,700 Bitcoins compared to MARA Holdings’ approximately 33,875.

Currently, the software firm ranks as the fourth biggest owner of Bitcoins, following Satoshi Nakamoto, Binance, and BlackRock.
