All Weapon Types in Windrose

Stat Scaling Description
Saber Agility Balanced blade designed for quick slashes. Mainly uses horizontal and diagonal attacks.
Rapier Precision A thin-bladed straightsword designed for stabbing. Excels in one-on-one scenarios.
Club Strength Slow and heavy bludgeon that deals high damage. Cannot perfectly block attacks.
Greatsword Agility Jack of all trades with wide sweeps and strong stabs. Trades speed for power.
Halberd Strength A slow, long-reaching weapon. Features high base damage, but cannot perfectly block.
Pistol Precision Short-ranged handgun that can fire two shots before reloading.
Musket Precision Long-ranged rifle with high accuracy.

Melee weapons feature powerful heavy attacks that inflict greater damage. These attacks often have unique swings – for instance, the Greatsword’s heavy attacks can reach further than its regular attacks.

As a fan, I’m really digging the weapon variety in Windrose! There are five weapons you can use up close – swords, clubs, and more – and three for ranged combat. What’s cool is the one-handed swords, clubs, and rapiers let you pair them with a pistol for some really flexible fighting styles. If you prefer the bigger two-handed weapons, you can’t use a pistol at the same time, but you can always switch to a musket or blunderbuss during a fight if you need some ranged power.

Like many games similar to Souls, each weapon benefits most from a specific stat. You can find out how well a weapon works with a stat by looking at the letter grade on its description. These grades range from D to S, with D meaning the weapon doesn’t scale well with that stat, and S being the best.

Unique Weapons

Here are some of the unique, Purple/Epic-quality weapons we’ve found so far in Windrose:

Weapon Stat Scaling Unique Effect
Arboris Saber B – Strength Deals Crude damage and scales with Strength. Dealing damage grants stacks of Corruption. At 5 stacks, a special attack becomes available. Attacks with this weapon are more effective at converting Temporal Health.
Rapier of a Thousand Cuts B – Precision Dealing damage applies Bleeding. Stacks up to 5 times, dealing 40 damage per second for each stack. Killing Bleeding enemies spreads their Bleeding stacks to another nearby enemy.
Bonebreaker Club A – Strength Deal more damage the more Stamina you have. Increases Critical Hit Chance by 10%.
Soul Eater Greatsword B – Agility This weapon has a special attack that drains Health from nearby enemies (2-minute cooldown). The weapon’s special attack also scales with Vitality.
Executioner Halber B – Strength Killing enemies with this weapon grants stacks of Rage, which increases your Critical Hit Chance by 10%, up to 30%. While the Rage effect is active, you gain Ward (15% Damage Resistance).

In Windrose, ships are equipped with cannons that come in three main sizes – 12, 24, and 36-pounders – and each size has different versions.

Players will discover these weapons while exploring the game, but they might initially find weaker versions. Luckily, you can upgrade these to Epic quality using special items, which will then activate all of their special abilities.
