Steam Users Have Until April 20 to Claim Psychological Horror Game for Free

Steam is offering another free game for players to download and keep, but you’ll need to claim it by April 20th. Throughout April 2026, Steam has been giving away several free games spanning many different genres, including a free horror game released earlier this month.

Steam recently offered the horror game Chamber Survival as a free download. Players navigate a terrifying room, searching for clues and solving puzzles to escape. While it was available for free until April 9th, it now costs $15.99. If you missed Chamber Survival or are a fan of horror games, there’s another free game available on Steam now – don’t miss out!

NineHells is Free on Steam

  • Claim NineHells for free on Steam

Hey, if you’re into spooky, story-driven games, you should know that NineHells is currently free on Steam! I just found out, but the deal ends on April 20th at noon Central Time. If you somehow miss out, don’t worry too much – it’s usually only a buck anyway, which is still a great price for a psychological horror game!

NineHells, created by Caffeineline, is a horror game with sudden scares and a mystery to unravel. It aims for a classic early 2000s horror feel with its puzzles. Players explore hell from a first-person view and will encounter frightening imagery. While it may not be a groundbreaking title and currently lacks user reviews on Steam, it’s available to play for free.

Other Free PC Games Available Right Now

  • Prop Sumo (until April 16 at 10:00am CST)
  • TOMAK: Save the Earth Regeneration (until April 16 at 10:00am CST)
  • The Stone of Madness (April 16 – April 23)

Right now, NineHells is the only free game available on Steam. However, if you’re willing to check out the Epic Games Store, you can find a couple more free games: TOMAK: Save the Earth Regeneration and Prop Sumo. Both are free to claim until April 16th at 10:00am Central Time. TOMAK is a visual novel, and Prop Sumo is a party fighting game.

Okay, so TOMAK: Save the Earth Regeneration and Prop Sumo are leaving the Epic Games Store’s free games lineup. Don’t worry though, The Stone of Madness is taking their place! It’s a turn-based tactics game where you’re trying to escape a monastery – think stealth and strategy. It’s not super scary, but if you like that kind of thing, it might be right up your alley. You can grab The Stone of Madness for free until April 23rd, and then Epic will announce what’s coming next. Just a heads up, make sure you snag any of the free games that look good to you before they’re gone!
